Caine has just been deleted, and now all anyone has is each other. Jax is not left behind this time because why the hell would she be? Pomni and zooble have demonstrated in the prior episodes their awareness that jax is not in a good state and has a high risk of abstracting if she's left alone. They wont know how to help her, but they certainly wouldn't let her go off on her own.

Then caine gets his whole dive into the heart moment in the garbage bin. Accesses the internet, sees everything, all of that. He reappears to the party, ready to make amends and they all react how they did in the real thing with one key difference: jax is still here and is not having it.

Just as gangle can't bring herself to cry for jax when she abstracts, jax could never forgive caine for all he did to her and all she did to herself because of him. Seeing the rest of the cast so ready to let caine back in, she storms off one final time with nobody able to stop her. Thats when she abstracts. Now she hasn't abstracted because pomni shrugged her off for some reason when its clear she was at her lowest, but because caine's return to such little scrutiny drove that final wedge between her and the support she needed.

now jax is abstracted, and even if he isnt personally to "blame", caine is present, is the reason for her abstraction, and is fully aware of that fact. Now he cant cleanly reenter the cast because in attempting to do so has wronged them one final time. Maybe they still forgive him, but even with a renewed consience, caine knows he has fresh blood on his hands.
