As we all know by now, this whole thing of Freddie Mercury having a secret daughter is complete bullshit. (a very yappy text post)
However, of course, this doesn't stop Lesley Ann Jones from trying to promote her book sales by having this supposed daughter go to the daily mail with claims that freddie was abused by his boarding school teacher.
I don't even have to go on about how indescribably despicable that is, true or not.
I can make a whole other post about Lesley Ann Jones and her pathetic attempts at "exposing" Freddie's personal life, which, of course, is a series of totally fabricated events used to grant her financial gain, but let me put this question out there..
What makes people think that if freddie really did have a daughter, he wouldn't have been screaming it from the rooftops!?
I understand that he would've had aspects of his personal life he kept private, but I don't think that this is the case AT all.
This is yet another case of somebody using him for financial gain, attention, fame, ect, when he is no longer here to defend himself. Whilst I can acknowledge that most queen fans don't have a care in the world over whether or not this is true, it still alters his legacy.
Not to mention the fact that Brian May and Mary Austen have both made statements that they knew nothing of a secret daughter. Mary also noted that it was impossible for her not to know, especially considering she was his best friend.
Something that seems to get lost in all of this is also the fact that Freddie was gay. It is so unlikely that he would have gone around sleeping around with random women, especially not whilst being with/after calling off his engagement with Mary. (Furthermore, very conveniently, LAJ mentions that the mother died years before).
LAJ met Freddie ONCE and has somehow managed to write three books about him. She is nothing more than a woman who seeks financial gain through maliciously targetting a man who can now only be defended by those who knew him. Do not buy her book. Do not believe a word that comes out of her mouth.
The most accurate book written on Freddie's last years, I believe, is "Mercury and Me" written by Jim Hutton, Freddie's husband. It's a fantastic read and made me cry at multiple points. Don't waste your money on LAJ's fabricated fairytales.
