“i’d rather not…” adam trailed off, giving julian a once over. something was off about him, he just didn’t know what. julian just had something to hide, he could feel it. “so i’m just gonna check the freezer to see if there is any ice cream, seeing as you had the last of the milk.”
julian was having the time of his life messing with adam. he leaned against hte counter, “i doubt you’ll find any. seems like someone finished that too, it’s a tragedy..” he raised his brows at the other, a smile spreading across his lips.

“knock knock,” ronnie said as she half assed a knock on the other’s door, just making her way into their room. she was probably the last person people expected to have a smile on her face but here she was. “okay, i know things have sucked lately and i can’t really fix that but how about this.” she holds up the basket that was behind her back. “me, you, this bottle of wine that i packed and nice picnic, we can either go hike and find a place or go on the beach. just hang out, talk, laugh, do things like before.” she bats her lashes slightly. “please?”
julian was sprawled across his bed, book in hand and arm behind his head as he flipped through the pages learning about past cases and how lawyers had handled them; including what went wrong, how the public viewed it etc etc. he wanted his mind to be fresh before going back to school, that was if he was going to make it without being kidnapped or worse, dead. he lifted his head upon hearing the voice coming into the quiet atmosphere and he smiled, “who’s there? is there a joke to follow because otherwise get out.” he returned to his book, the smile never fading as he listened to her. “picnic?” he closed his book, “are you asking me out? finally.” he joked, setting it beside him as he got up. a long sigh fell from his lips as he admired her from her head to toe, julian was horrible for not having checked up on her -- he narrowed his eyes at her before nodding. “okay, let’s go.”

adam shot julian a skeptical look. “you don’t think that anyone would mind? i mean it’s just aloe but…” he trailed off, leaning forward on the counter top. “melted cereal in the afternoon, huh?” he questioned, playing along with the other. “kinda smells like vanilla to me.”
“i don’t think anyone would mind.” he says as he leans forward on the counter, folding his hands before him with a bright smile spread across his lips, “like i said, we’re all family after all. you know who wouldn’t mind? maybe tave, steal some of his if he has any.” julian replied with a shrug. “melted cereal.” he replied, wiggling his eyebrows. “does it?” he lifted the bowl up to sniff it only to smile again. “well look at that, my milk was vanilla.”

“not if you keep drinking.” she can’t help but tease him with a bit of a smile. “listen, the only way this island is miserable if you let it be miserable, there’s so much to do here and if you focus on one thing then yeah i get it.” she takes a sip of her drink. “you need to relax.”
“those are some deep words to live by. i should learn how to sew so i can make a pillow out of that or something and keep it around.” julian snickered after his little comment. “i’ve been tying to relax, you know? being that happy go lucky dude, trying not to let a possible death freak him out but you know.. it’s uh getting harder and shit.” he had no idea why he was spilling his thoughts to her, out of all people, but the words were spilling out like vomit. maybe his head was tired of carrying the thoughts that were constantly threatening to pour out.

“If your mom senses something is wrong and comes to get you, I’m leaving with you. There’s no way I’m getting left behind. I’ll charm your mom as much as I can so she can take me with you.” Her eyes met his with a glint of happiness as she spoke to him, a nod following after as her eyes seemed to get brighter. There was a bashfulness to him, as if he didn’t expect for her to be able to speak to his mother if she knew she had the chance to help him. “Why not? I know how it is to want to speak to your mom, so if a three way call can help, why not do it?” She blinked away tears that threatened to spill behind bright eyes, smiling softly at Julian as he tried to sing for her to not cry, although the tone was completely off. She raised an eyebrow as the boy spoke, seemingly so as if he had a plan to take a phone and frame it on someone else. It was shocking to Cameron, really. “Sometimes I wonder about your brain and…” she stopped to sniffle once again “how you come up with those things. The problem is, the calls can be traced and they’ll compare numbers to names and who they’re related to and then we’re back at that imaginary jail cell.” Now she was starting to think like Julian. Cami’s head tilted to the side. “I doubt it, but if we are that dampens the chances for us to have conjugal visits.” Her eyes drifted down to his foot, seemingly fine. Cameron smiled as Julian replied that he was okay, which was enough for her. “This feels like a really bad episode of Pretty Little Liars and we’re still wondering who the fuck A is.” Her jaw slacked open as Julian spoke aloud of aybe Evie being behind this. Her hand lightly hit his arm, “Super fucked up. It’d make some sense but let’s not think that way.”
“see, that’s if my mom can sense something’s wrong. i mean it’s not like i call her everyday when i’m out of the country but at the same time i do give her weekly updates through texts.” he paused to look up, “mom come through.” he whined, his eyes falling shut for a moment before opening up to gaze down at cameron. instantly a smile grew on his lips, he wished he knew why. among the chaos, there was cameron standing out in the dark providing him comfort despite the ever growing fear in his chest. he wondered if he looked as scared as he felt. “hmm, so you’re going to charm my mother? the scariest lady on the planet?” he lied, knowing well his mother was nothing but sweet outside her courtroom at least. he looked back on the days watching her speak as fiercely and quick, spitting out facts left and right all the while looking intimidating; he strives to be like her one day. his dad isn’t any different, except he’s more tougher outside and inside. “a three way? uh what if i start to break down or something. i mean .. you can’t witness that. not yet.” he teased, his nose scrunching at her. “wow, first of all? this brain is sexy. it’s full of wonders and great thoughts, don’t be jealous cause you don’t have a brain like mine.” his teeth clicked in response, “we’re not going to go to jail so get that through your skull or i’m walking away right now.” julian said, “surprise i’m A, i did all of this.” he joked, laughing slightly. “it would be a fucked up thing, i mean for all we know she’s having a grand old time.” he paused for a few, “i’m starting to honestly think she’s dead.”
