Hi! What I advise for anyone starting the violin would be to try to find a (good) teacher. It is very important because as you mentioned, learning a wrong position, for instance, will lead you to more struggles in the future as you will need to unlearn and correct it. (I experienced that myself at some extent hh) Also, learning the basis of reading music, can be a good thing. It’s always useful to be able to take a music score and know what notes you are playing on the violin :) With your violin teacher, probably (s)he will go with a violin method that you can follow to progress. All the best to you!
