Humans call me a clinical zooanthrope, but I’m really just turning into a bird. I was born in a human body but ever since I was little I could feel my wings starting to sprout and my feathers come in. Now I have wings with a wingspan of about 35 inches, with small flight feathers. These wings are located about 5 inches below my shoulder blades, and 4 inches apart. I also have baby feathers growing from my shoulders, chest, and back.
The doctors have tried to medicate and diagnose me, but nothing has “worked”, because I AM a bird.
I will use this to document my transformation, and connect with others who are similar.

Well, it started when I was young. Small feathers on my forehead and in my hairline. Humans tried to tell me it was “acne” but I know they were feathers now.
It stayed like that for a long time, just small feathers here and there, mostly on my face. Until about 8th grade (13 years old for those who aren’t familiar with the US public school ages), when I started getting “breakouts” on my back.

Well, I’m glad I can bring you comfort, you, and every other creature for that matter, deserves a safe space.
Ok, I’m not quite sure what kind of genitalia you are going for, but for me, I know I want a cloaca. The way I achieve this is with undergarments that match my skin tone and are breathable, this feels just like a second skin which gives the flat/genital-less look. Then I’ll usually just pop a pair of boxers on top.
Also, I personally know growing hair down there and keeping it pretty bushy makes it look more mammalian, so that may be worth trying.
Also also, and I don’t really do sex, so I don’t know from experience, but I’ve heard animal straps/covers can make sex less dysphoric for some alterhumans. But again, I’ve not tried that before, so take with an ocean of salt on that one.
I love alterhumans who actually think they are their kintypes. I know what it's like to have your nonhuman experiences caused by disorders! It's okay! It's okay, it's okay, it's okay. And it always will be. Anyone who tells you otherwise can get lost, they will never understand what it's like to have an identity so strong that it becomes your whole world.
Mental health matters.
Be what you want to be, no matter what it is. I genuinely identify as my oc, and it's alright. It might not be 'normal,' and it might mean you do struggle with identity issues but it's okay.

hi juice! Youre experienced with birds right? Im technically an angel so i shouldnt be in this ask box but in heaven i could turn into a bird, though its weird because i dont match any earth birds and am more of a Frankensteined mix of a few.
Im eagle shaped with greyish white/iridescent feathers through most of the body but my primaries, secondaries, and tail feathers have increasingly visible silver on them, my wings have less breadth so they match a vulture/pelican/condor more than full eagles, and i have a crest like a sulfur crested cockatoo. I havent seen any birds on tumblr that are a mix of several rather than just one. I dont think ive lived many earth lives and it all feels like one bird instead of several.
i cant turn into this now since my only physical shifts here are for the wings and halo but i still giggle a little when i think of a fucked up little celestial goofing off at his job and bothering all the other angels like(not an exact recollection of what happened):

First, it’s absolutely hilarious to think of you soaring around heaven fucking with others as a bird. Second, all creatures are welcome in my ask box, we’ve had humans, angels, birds, whales, cats and dogs here. You are just as beloved in my ask box as anyone else.
Ok, as for birds, there is no extinct or extant (extant = still kicking on earth) that matches your description, but, there are some that you could look into.
Ok, you described an eagle like body, with thinner, more vulture like wings. This sounds a lot like it could be a hooded vulture, which has the wings you described, and has feathers in its head. AND, AND look what they sometimes do with their head feathers.
It’s not exactly like a cockatoo, but, it could be what you’re describing. And then your coloring can be whatever you feel, especially as a divine being.
But also, you can be a polymorph bird, I’ve not seen it so much on tumblr, but there are lots of us. I’d even consider myself one, as I have other types than just my bird identity, and they all mix to create one body.
Uhh yea, I don’t really have a satisfying conclusion to this… :/
HECK YEEEAAAH DO IT JUICE! You can find the two tutorials on how to do it i posted somewhere on my blog, i wish i gave them special tags to be easier to find but i think you should find them alright if you search for the #cosplay or #diy tags.
I personally failed while trying to make mine but thats because the beginner friendly tutorials are for small wings and i tried to make big ones. if you want more detailed help look for misstwisted on youtube, she makes massive ones, guides you through all the steps, tells you everything you need, and is honest about how hard it can get while still not giving up hope!
i tried to make a pair but i failed 3 times, am running out of space in my room, and dont have a way to rehome the failures so i caved and bought a pair from etsy😔🪽
if i make a pair again ill have to go the hard route with making the strong skeleton with pvc pipe or ill have to make a tiny pair that doesnt rip off the base upon use.
