@juhihuji EEEP JUJUUU i can't believe it took me so long to post this—especially after you've surpassed your weightlifting goal since doing so! every now and then i stumble across this animation again when scrolling through my endless 7000+ gallery and it never fails to make me smile just as brightly as it did the very first time you sent it!

i adore how effortlessly you turned one of our silliest inside jokes into something that feels so unmistakably us! me happily being launched into the air, you being entirely triumphant, vash practically vibrating with excitement in the background while mr. mischief hiruma documents the entire ordeal . . . 😭😭 it's such a wonderfully ridiculous little moment frozen in time!

but i think what makes this so precious to me now is everything it's come to represent.

when you first drew it, "one day i'll be able to lift bubs" was still an ambition sitting somewhere on the horizon. now, months later, you've not only reached it—you've flown right past it through your own determination, discipline, and countless hours of hard work! it's funny how art can articulately preserve moments like this. something that began as a playful challenge has become a reminder of just how far you've come!

This is so embarrassing u guys I was hanging out in a secret club with Bubs and I'd flex and show off my lifts in there even though I HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW OFF but Bubs makes me feel like I'm Hercules HAHAHSKAHJDSHDKD she is really the greatest cheerleader 🥺

Hiruma is the devil on my shoulder that tells me to get up and do it or I'll be sorry and Bubs is the widdle angel that makes me wanna do it cuz if I do I might get to see her smile lol🥺not like I'm actually training for anything but lifting Bubs is an essential skill yaknow...

Also me n Hiruma took a trip to Japan lol...

It was in January 2025, before our wedding and before I drew these pieces...I told Hiruma I wanted to do the typical date stuff like in the animes and he called me a weeaboo but he took me anyway. We went to a really tall place, an aquarium, a ferris wheel, gardens, castles, karaoke, a sumo tournament, and a bunch of museums. The museums were mostly just for me lol...

I had these art pieces in mind for a couple years (I know the idea isn't very original but it was just so perfect for us lol) and I knew how I wanted to dress Hiruma for them. I guess men typically wear darker yukata, but I wanted his to have a reflective pattern to match his ammo belt (when ur man knows how to accessorize am I right ladies), but I didn't know what I would wear lol...at first my only thought was that it'd be something Hiruma picks out

He likes to dress me up in flashy outfits and there's a lot to work with there with women's yukata and accessories...but I didn't know what to do for the colours...Hiruma's favourite colour is red but it's not like that's the only colour he wears and I felt like it'd be too on the nose lmao

When we were in Japan we visited the Fukagawa Edo Museum. While we were there a tour guide named Yukiko approached me and asked if I wanted to try on a kimono! I didn't read anything about this in reviews...the entrance fee was like $4 I think but Yukiko offered to dress me up!!! I never planned any kimono rentals or anything for my trip even though I kinda wanted to try it lol...

Yukiko took me into a room with a dresser and picked out clothes and accessories from the drawers then put them on me. She put them over my street clothes cuz this was totally impromptu in the middle of the exhibit. Also the white undergarment was just a collar lol. She said she made it herself along with the hair accessories but that's why I...look weird and have clothes on underneath lmao

She took some photos for me then I quickly removed everything and gave them back lmao It was such a surprise what! $4 to look at the exhibits and play a tiny bit of surprise dress up lmao kinda FUCKING AWESOME. I saw her put a yellow kimono on another girl too...

Anyway when I came back from my trip I started working on the first drawing...I kinda didn't want to draw myself in red cuz as I said it felt too on the nose lmao but...I already decided that whatever I wore would be the decision of someone else (Hiruma) and someone else did decide what colours to put me in (Yukiko). My hair was copper at the time so I wonder if that's why she chose red for me...I only saw yellow as the other option lol but I decided to honour her choice and draw me in red...if Yukiko thinks that's what I look best in then how can I deny that lmao plus Hiruma loves seeing it on me too so 😌

I didn't actually bring out Hiruma at the museum lol Yukiko didn't know anything about him…idk I'm choosing to attribute deeper meaning to this experience so I incorporated it into the art by drawing me in red/black/yellow (no undergarment so no white though) 🙂 I rly rly like these drawings tbh lol I went MAX HAPPY ENERGY BEAM GO and that's how they came out
