Jared let out a slow breath against her lips, her words sinking straight into him. His hand slid from her back to her waist, thumb pressing in like he needed to feel her there, solid and real. âYou donât complain,â he murmured, voice low, roughened by want, âbut you give everything. And I love that you trust me enough to stop being strong with me.â He kissed her again, deeper this timeâunhurried but charged, the kind that promised more without rushing it. His forehead rested against hers, noses brushing, his grip tightening just a little. âYou have no idea how much it does to me,â he admitted softly, a faint smile tugging at his mouth, âwhen you finally let yourself be held⌠when itâs just us.â He stayed there, warm and steady, letting the moment lingerâheat threaded through tenderness, like the morning could tip either way whenever she was ready. It was risky to hope for spice when the kids could wake any second but he was never able to help it with Shay
âOf course, I trust you enough. Weâre a team, baby. Weâre equal. One of us doesnât have to do more than the other one. If Iâm at 40, youâre at 60. If youâre at 30, Iâm at 70⌠We both put work in with this family.â They were a team, and she knew she could trust him enough to put in equal work into their kids. Her hand moved under his shirt, resting against his bare back. âHow long are we going to be able to be in this bubble of ours?â She asked, her lips finding his for another kiss. She knew at any point someone could interrupt them, but she hoped the girls would sleep a bit longer.
Jared smiled against her mouth at her words, that quiet pride blooming in his chest the way it always did when she talked about them. His hand slid higher at her waist, slow and deliberate, like he was savoring every second he had her like this. âThatâs why this works,â he murmured, brushing his nose along hers. âBecause itâs never been me against you. Itâs always been us.â Her hand under his shirt made his breath hitch, his forehead dipping to hers again as he closed his eyes for a beat. âAs long as theyâll let us,â he said softly, a smile in his voice now, âI wanna stay right here. With you. Maybe steal a little more time⌠remind my wife how much I miss her when itâs not just late nights and responsibilities.â His thumb pressed in again, affectionate but promising, lips lingering at the corner of hers. âI donât need long,â he added quietly. âI just need you. â He rolled so he was pinning her "Any specific requests for how you're ravaged, my queen?" jhe smirked
Jared didnât pull away when she cupped his face. If anything, he leaned into it, eyes closing for a second like her hands were anchoring him there. The kiss she gave him was slow and unhurried, the kind that didnât ask for anything, just settled into himâand it made something in his chest ache in the best way. When she pulled back, he stayed close, forehead resting against hers. âI see you,â he murmured, voice low and rough with sleep and honesty. âI know you donât always think I do, but I do.â His thumb brushed gently along her jaw, a soft, repetitive motion. âYou carry so much, Shay. The kids, the business, everyone elseâs needs. And you never complain. You just⌠keep going.â He exhaled slowly, like heâd been holding it in. âI donât want you burning yourself out just because you think you have to be strong all the time. You donât have to do that with me.â His eyes opened then, warm and steady, fixed on hers. âBut I like to take care of you, and so I don't mind carrying my share of the weight all days, and more on the days where yours might feel too heavy. That's what partners doâ Jared shifted just enough to tuck her closer, arms wrapping around her like it was the most natural thing in the world. The house was quietâno kids yelling, no chaosâjust the faint morning light creeping in through the windows. âThese mornings,â he admitted softly, âtheyâre my favorite.. You're my favorite.â He tipped his head down a bit to capture her lips in another soft kiss, hand rubbing slowly down her back.Â
Her gaze rested on his as he ran his thumb along her skin, taking in everything he was saying. How he saw her, knew how she was acting strong, like she always had. She put the kids first; she would let herself break down when she was alone. But most of the time, no matter how hard of a time she was having, she put a smile on her face and acted strong for the kids. They didnât need to be around or see her break down from her tiredness of life. She moved, her arms moving around his middle and her fingers played with the hem of his tee-shirt. âI donât complain. Whatâs complaining going to do? It wonât change anything.â She said softly, leaning her forehead against his. âIâm not going to burn myself out, baby. I know my limit and what I can and canât handle.â There were a few times she got close, and she would have a breakdown in the bathroom. But those didnât happen as often as they use to. Not when things were good between them. She kissed him again, âthank you for being such an equal partner. I couldnât do any of this without, Jare.â
Jared let out a slow breath against her lips, her words sinking straight into him. Jared Padalecki | Walker 2021
Shay stayed quiet as he spoke, she felt her heart tug as he said he realized how hard it was. How tired that the brunette was after a busy few days of nonstop running around. He was so different, so caring from when she was with matte. Matte didnât give two shits about her while she was running around with newborn and trying to get her business off the ground. But jared no, he cared. He watched her and was making sure she took time for herself. That she didnât run herself to the ground and wouldnât be able to get back up again. Shay had turned in his arms so she was facing him now. âAnd youâre one hell of a partner, too.â She said as she cupped his cheeks. Sure, he had his moments. He had fucked up more times than she could count. But when lucy stayed away from him, he was good. âI canât do this parenting without you, without your support. And moments like this. Iâm glad you pay enough attention to me that you know Iâm tired.â She said softly as she leaned in and pressed a kiss to his lips.

Shay let out a quiet groan, âwhat do you mean itâs later than I think? What time is it?â She opened up her eyes and reached for her phone to check the time. âYou let me sleep in?â Her voice was soft with realization. âBaby,â she cooed as she set her phone down and leaned back into him. âThank you, I guess I needed the sleep.â It did surprise her, her body even let her sleep in past 6. But she was going to take it. She wouldnât complain and just thank him for being a partner, someone that is so willingly to take the chaos of the house for a few hours while she took time for herself.
âShh,â she paused as she turned her head to look at him. âDonât say the q word, youâll ruin it.â She giggled. She knew many times she had mentioned that it was quiet and then someone started screaming or running around. She didnât want that to ruin this quiet moment with her husband. She wasnât ready to get out of bed and step into that mom life yet. Sometimes she couldnât wait for the kids to grow and for Rome to become a bit more independent. She grinned at the small compliment, the praise that she did do a hell of a job to keep things under control. âYou never realize how much I do until you try to do it, right?â She asked teasingly as she felt his arms tightening around her body. Â
Jared smiled against her skin when she teased him, a quiet, breathy laugh leaving his chest. âOh, I realize,â he murmured. âIâve always realized.â His hand stilled at her stomach for a moment, grounding, before his thumb started those slow circles again. âI just donât say it enough because you make it look⌠seamless. Like it doesnât cost you anything. So sometimes it doesn't hit me like it oughta.â He shifted slightly, careful not to break the cocoon theyâd made of each other. âYou carry the mental load, the emotional load, the âwhereâs the thing that was right here two seconds agoâ load,â he said softly. âYou keep the wheels on when everyone else is just along for the ride.â His nose brushed her hairline, his voice dropping even lower. âAnd I see how tired you get. I see the way you still show up anyway.â He pressed a slow kiss to her forehead. âSo yeah. Sleeping in? Thatâs not a favor. Thatâs me taking care of my wife.â Jared pulled back just enough to look at her properly now, eyes warm, steady. âYouâre a damn good mom,â he said, no humor in itâjust truth. âAnd youâre a hell of a partner. This house runs because of you, Shay. We run because of you.â He tucked her closer again, palm splayed over her ribs, protective and sure. âSo weâre staying right here for a bit,â he murmured. âNo clocks. No lists. Just you breathing and me being selfish with my time.â A faint smile curved at his mouth. âLet the world wait. My queenâs still in bed.â

Shay loved all of the kids, she loved when they were all at their house and the house was just chaotic. She never worked well with mess; she was the clean perfectionist in the past. But now with so many kids running around, she had to let that part of her go. She was living for a messy, lived in home. How the Christmas tree didnât look aesthetically perfect, but it had all the homemade crafts on it. The uneven decorations that the younger children would put on it. She would take the loud days over the quieter ones when it was just the couple, Sam, atlas, and Rome. Busier the better was her new mantra of the day.
Shay let out a yawn as she stirred awake feeling arms wrapping around her. âMorning, handsome.â She said sleepily as her hands rested against his arms. She pushed herself back just enough that her back was pressed against his bare chest. âWhat time is it? Are the kids up yet?â She mumbled, turning her head and pressing a kiss against his arm. She hadât even open her eyes out to realize how late it was. Sleeping in wasnât her thing, she was up at the crack of dawn to make breakfast for everyone, to make lunches, to make sure their bags were packed and ready to go. Mom life, it was her personality since she got into this marriage, and she wouldnât change it for the world now.
Jared moved through the house in socked feet, the quiet settling around him like a held breath. The front door clicked softly behind them after Gen left with their three kids, the sound barely carrying down the hall. He paused there for a second anyway, listeningâhabit more than needâthen let his shoulders drop when nothing stirred. Rome was awake, curled up on the couch with a blanket half-dragged over her legs, the TV murmuring low. Sammy lay sprawled against her side, warm and boneless with sleep, one small hand fisted in her shirt. Jared crossed the room without a word, leaned down to brush his knuckles over Romeâs hair. She glanced up at him, eyes bright but sleepy, and he smiledâslow, soft, just for her. "Hey, bug,â he murmured. She smiled back and settled, eyes drifting shut again. Once he'd headed up to Shay, he relaxed further.  Jared smiled into her hair when she shifted, arms tightening around her on instinct, like his body had decided she belonged there long before his brain ever caught up. He pressed his face into the warm skin of her shoulder, breathing her in, unhurried. âMorning,â he murmured, voice rough with sleep and fondness. He kissed the spot just below her ear, slow, lingering. âItâs later than you think. And noâwell. Some are.â
His hand slid over her stomach, thumb tracing lazy circles through the fabric of her shirt. âGen picked up our three already. Romeâs up, planted on the couch with the TV like she owns the place. Sammyâs passed out on her, Atlas too. House is⌠quiet.â He huffed a soft laugh against her neck. âUnnaturally so.â He shifted, propping himself up just enough to look at her, even though her eyes were still closed. âYou needed the sleep,â he added gently, like heâd already decided and that was that. âIâve got it handled. No fires. No missing backpacks or special gifts missing... Yet.â His lips brushed her temple, then her cheek. âYou do a hell of a job, you know that?â he said quietly. Not dramatic. Just true. âBut this morning? Youâre off duty. Stay right here.â He tightened his arms again, chin resting on her shoulder. Down the hall, the house stayed still, holding its breath. "I need some time with my queen before the chaos starts again"
Her moans turned into screams as he continued to pound into her. The sound of their bodies colliding together filled the air, mixed with both of their breathing and sounds. âFuck, baby.â She moaned as her back arched, a hand gripped at the side of the table as her other one moved to her breast and she rolled her nipple between her thumb and index finger. âRight there⌠Iâm so close,â shay muttered out as she felt his hand moving between them and he teased her clit. Her head tilted upwards, her body tensing. And just like on queue with his words, she let it out. A long low moan escaping as she hit her high, her walls pulsating around his thick member.
--timeskip--
By Monday morning, the house finally exhaled. The weekend had been loud in the best wayâdoors slamming, socks everywhere, kids talking over one another, laughter ricocheting off the walls until even the Christmas tree felt like it was leaning in to listen. Now, with three of them heading back to school and then Genâs for a few days, the noise had thinned to a gentle echo. Jared stood in the kitchen in socked feet, coffee forgotten in his hand, watching backpacks get zipped and coats pulled on with varying degrees of enthusiasm. Heâd loved every second of the chaos. Loved the way the younger ones had sprawled on the living room floor to watch movies, how the older kids pretended they were too cool for it but still hovered close. Loved waking up to a house that felt fullâof people, of purpose. There were fingerprints on the fridge, glitter embedded in the rug, a half-finished gingerbread house slumping on the counter like it had given up the fight. Jared didnât rush to clean any of it. He liked the evidence. Proof theyâd been here. When the door finally closed and the quiet settled in, it wasnât lonely. Just⌠different. Temporary. He moved through the house slowly, picking up a stray hoodie, straightening a stocking that had been knocked crooked. Christmas was close enough now that it felt like the house itself was holding its breath, waiting for everyone to be back under the same roof again. Jared checked the calendar out of habitâonly a few more days. He smiled to himself, already counting down, already missing them even though theyâd barely left. By the time the last backpack disappeared onto the bus, Jared was already tired in that good wayâthe kind that came from a weekend lived loud and full. He stood at the front window for a second longer than necessary, watching the bus pull away, then finally turned back into the quiet. Shay hadnât stirred once through the morning rush. Heâd made sure of it. Heâd kept voices low, rerouted kids away from the bedroom hallway, mouthed shh more times than he could count. She deserved the sleepâafter the weekend, after everythingâand for once, the house had worked with him. Now, with the kids gone and the coffee finally cooling in his mug, the quiet felt earned. Jared set the mug down and headed upstairs, taking the steps two at a time out of habit before forcing himself to slow near the top. The hallway was dim, soft with morning light, the kind that made everything feel gentler than it really was. He paused at the bedroom door, hand on the frame, just for a second. Then he slipped inside, careful and quiet, already smiling as he crossed the room. Waking her was his favorite kind of taskâunrushed, unnecessary, just theirs. No alarms. No chaos. Just the promise of a few quiet minutes before the world asked for them again. Christmas was close. The kids would be back before he knew it. The house would fill up again. But for now, this moment was enough. "Good morning, my precious queen" He murmured lowly, drawing her into his arms as he slipped back under the blankets

[text] Would that bother you?
[text] Yeah, because we've been through this he's happily settled right now. Why would you go after him again?
[Text] Even if it's with a friend of yours?
[text] ? Which friend? Not Jensen again, right?
