Kate watched her husband from her seat across the room. Intently tracking the scene before her, she pressed her lips together, holding back any comment and simply allowing herself to feel fortunate that this is really her life.
Castle was dancing around the kitchen with their six-month old daughter while he waited for their coffee to finish brewing. He insisted that he would take care of everything this morning and she should just prop her feet on the couch- just relax. He told her that her birthday month was coming to an end and he planned on making each day count.
She shook her head with a smile, hypnotized by the sound of her daughter’s soft giggles, the child clearly enamored with her father. That made two of them. Leaning her head back against the couch cushion, she closed her eyes. Just so thankful that they ended up here.
