The solution to the grandfather paradox is there would just be a billion different ridiculous obstacles getting in the way of you killing your grandfather so you'd never be able to do it.

Cringe means taking things to their extreme, which means asking questions. Cringe culture means our culture is afraid of asking questions, which means we don't have as many opportunities for wisdom, which makes us less human.

Cultures differ greatly in their view on the afterlife because those people are inclined to different afterlives. In the East in places like India theyre big on reincarnation because most of those people get reincarnated but in conservative places in the West with Christianity theyre big on instilling fear of hell because most of those people go to hell. Jaded atheist scientist types believe in black nothingness after death because they lack character so much its unlikely for them to be reincarnated as anything at all, at least anything with much sentience. And so then they choose to reincarnate as those things... it's a self-fulfilling prophecy/catch-22.

At the start you can never assume malice what could be explained by ignorance, but once people stop being ignorant and can't hold themselves accountable for what they did, their prior ignorance becomes malice.
