Howdy all, this is my Type 97 Chi-Ha Medium Tank, a Japanese tank used regularly by the Imperial Japanese Army throughout WWII. The Japanese had very weak tanks, so they would hide their tanks so they may stand a chance against enemy war machines.
I was very proud of this paint job, up until I messed about with the muds and grasses, I really should have looked into how to use them effectively before applying them, luckily I had a back up plan: bury the tank.
All the paints I used were from Vallejo Paint, most of which can be found in their panzer series. I used an airbrush to apply a base of Cam. Olive Green then, still using my airbrush made camo using flat earth and Ger.C. Extra Dark Green. With the hard parts out of the way I mixed black and gunmetal grey to make a darker metal for the exhaust vents on the back of the tank, then used a lighter mix of black in gunmetal on the gun on the back of the tank’s swivel and the one near the body. After attaching my various shrubbery I brushed Intermediate Green and Ger.c. Extra Dark Green over portions of the leaves and grass to darken it up a bit.
