I'd say that the main risk of this show is the sequence of events becoming repetitive, but they could be more creative with it than I expect. Otherwise this is a fun premise and very noticeably has high quality animation - especially whenever Akaishi is being particularly cute, expressive and sparkly. I liked the environmental storytelling details, such as Akaishi having a whole set of coloured pencils but only the greyscale ones have been worn down with use. This said a lot before any conversation took place between the characters. I hope that Minami does continue to be sincere, the moment when he could have stepped away from Akaishi to save his own reputation, he instead took her side. I appreciated that about him and it would be horribly sad for that to be betrayed.

I'll admit straight away that I'm in no position to comment on the accuracy of how this country, time period or religion was portrayed. I hope that it was done with the correct amount of respect and reverence. I can confidently say that these two episodes left me feeling both entranced and emotionally devastated. The art style is unique and beautiful and the characters feel fully developed even if we only know them for a short time. This has enormous potential, so I hope that it comes to fruition.

I'm very excited for this premise; exploring the supernatural characters and investigating unusual goings on piques my interest. This was a very good episode introducing that premise and I'm looking forward to more of it. It'll be interesting to see if it will continue to be episodic and each new story will be a new case and another character to get to know as they accompany Iwamoto, or will a bigger story become apparent?

The moment that sealed how much I like Elsa was when Julius finally dropped his public persona and spoke plainly about the very contractual marriage he expected, only to seem shocked when Elsa was pragmatic about the situation and agreed to his conditions without fuss. It felt like the moment was building up to Elsa being heartbroken after enjoying a few of the luxuries and getting her hopes up about her married life; but she was completely sensible about it. I think Elsa is going to be an enjoyable lead character.

Yuzu needs to let Touko punch some people. I love that Yuzu has a cool friend like her.

Something done very successfully here is conveying the pain of Yuzu's isolation and the sting of every mistreatment. I really felt for her to the point that I understood her desperation in accepting Kiryuin appearing out of nowhere for her. Even she acknowledged that it was a convenient turn of events. I presume that we're going to get some explanation for how he ended up on the bridge looking for her. In any case, I'm completely rooting for Yuzu's happiness.

Mama Cat instantly going high in the rankings of best anime mothers. She is wonderful and I love that she has a slightly spicy personality as well as being a mum to anything within her reach. Such an excellently realised character.

Oh yes, I'm going to love this. I did expect it to be completely cosy but there were moments of violence; such as the death of Cat Dragon's dragon mother and also seeing what the humans were hunting the cat-sìth for. I was also surprised by how complete the stories within each episode were. I think that, while we may eventually string the linking narrative together, each episode will be it's own tale about a cat-sìth's relationship with a human or them spending time with Cat Dragon. They've also managed to get away with the cats displaying any non-cat behaviour by making them cat-sìth, so you can excuse any oddities.

This looks to be a fun 'refusal of the call' show, where the character who is supposed to be the all powerful main lead only wants to indulge her desire to be the best maid possible. I wonder if the storyline will catch up with her in the end, or will the other isekai'd characters manage to keep it at bay with their in-game knowledge? I was wondering until that moment what the isekai element was supposed to add to the story. I'm interested to see where this ends up and the characters are all pretty likeable so far.

Nice to have this silly cute show back. Surprisingly throwing in a little bit to think about at the end there covering different perceptions of reality. Dazai was also very likely deliberately messing with them too.

This episode was heavy with exposition, but it looks like we will get to see what the show will really be like next time now that this is all out of the way. From the opening and ending, I'm expecting a pretty soft romance as Carolina grows in confidence and finds her feet.
