Adventure is my Drug

On May 23rd 2014 this girl became my girlfriend, and we dated for a year. It was the best year of my life, we shared so many memories and we found out so many things about each other. Literally I was the happiest girl with the most beautiful girl. On May 31st 2015, she decided she needed time for herself and that she didn’t know what she wanted. It was the hardest thing for both of us, our hearts both broken and we were torn apart but it was best at the time. That fall we went to college, at the same college. We tried to work things out a few times but it never worked. We started seeing other people and we thought it was the end of our relationship. Around the end of April of this year, she broke her ankle and I decided to make sure she was okay in her dorm room. We started talking about how much we hated our lives at that point and how nothing was making sense. As we talked more and more we realized nothing made sense because we weren’t together and we were made for each other. She had changed so much and was so confident in herself and I had never stopped loving her through everything. I never thought I would get the chance to have her back and call her mine but I’m so glad we have gone through hell and made it back to a great reality of getting to be together. Now on July 23rd 2016 I have the chance to call her my girlfriend once again and make more memories and learn so many more things and be the happiest girl with the most beautiful girl. As soon as you came out you said, “Mom, I’m still me.” I need you to hear this: You are still you, Simon. You are still the same son who I love to tease and who your father depends on for just about everything. And your the same brother who always compliments his sister on her food, even when it sucks. You get to exhale now, Simon. You get to be more you than you have been in, in a very long time. You deserve everything you want.

4 years ago we accidentally fell in love and I haven’t looked back since. I can’t believe we spent three of those years in the closet. Life is so weird.
