When I met my cat he was the saddest most apathetic cat in the adoption center. He lazily got up when I petted him and then immediately went back to laying down and looking bored. There were definitely friendlier, more energetic, and younger cats in the place but I decided this poor dude had spent enough of his life in a cage and I was going to take him.

He’s now the most playful, expressive, and curious cat I have ever met. He is a little shit, gets up to no good, but he’s pretty well behaved when he’s not throwing a tantrum. He runs around at high speeds and throws himself at toys with a big cat ferocity. He’s affectionate and loving, hates loud noises and raised voices, sets a bed time for me by harassing me until I lay in bed and when I do he checks the windows before curling up on me and going to sleep.

I only shared this because 1.) I love my cat I want to brag about him, and 2.) if you told me that lazy, apathetic creature in the cage was going to be this crazy fun loving cat, I might not have believed you. But I wanted to give him a better life and he makes my life better instead.
