they say don’t ever give up on the people you love, but what do you do when every person that you’ve ever loved gives up on you?

The truth is depression sucks. It fills my legs and my arms with heavy lead—paralyzed and poisoned. My bed becomes my safe haven but also my prison cell. I am just stuck. And even on bright sunny days, my blinds are shut and I can only hear thunder. And the worst part is that I’m conscious. It’s like I’m watching myself break my own heart—the protagonist and the villain of my life one in the same. But no matter how aware I am, I still feel helpless. And so the truth is depression sucks. It is not romantic or beautiful. It is lonely and sad. It is struggling to shower or eat or do simple everyday things. It is sleeping all day but always feeling exhausted. It is good days and bad days and it is not the same for everyone. It is a lot of things but above all, depression just really sucks.

Just let yourself breathe and you’ll be free again.
