â pity. dumpling suits you. â whether he was sarcastic or sincere was the cliffhanger. he takes his sushi from the conveyor belt, ingesting it with nimble chopsticks. wiping out curses all evening was impossible on an empty stomach. / for asami <3
Asami's eyes flickered toward Loid, her expression remaining carefully neutral. Â Dumpling . . . ? Â She watched him navigate the conveyor belt with practiced ease, the clatter of plastic plates providing a rhythmic backdrop to the tension simmering in her gut. Â She could tell he was hungryâbut that didn't make the way his voice had dropped just a fraction less irritating. "You're ridiculous, Loid-san." Â she said, her tone clipped, though the anger was missing from it.
"I am a Sorcerer, not some soft, squishy snack." She retorted, reaching for her own drink, fingers brushing the condensation on the glass as she studied him from the corner of her eye, torn between annoyance and a ridiculous, fluttering warmth in her chest. Â Asami knew what he was doingâ dropping these little grenades of affection wrapped in sarcasm, leaving her completely unable to tell if he was teasing her or actually being sweet.

刻THE ARARAGI CLAN
the Araragi Clan is one of the older families, Â with a history stretching back several centuries. Â Unlike the Zenin, they aren't openly obsessed with status or bloodline purity & their members are generally regarded as disciplined, educated, and respectable within jujutsu society. Â that reputation hides a much stricter reality.
the Araragi believe that a sorcerer's greatest responsibility is to perfect whatever potential they have been given. children born with particularly powerful cursed techniques are therefore subjected to rigorous training from an early age. Â physical conditioning, cursed-energy control, combat drills, barrier techniques & tactical education are considered necessities rather than abuse. Â Â "talent is a gift. Â discipline is what makes it useful."
arranged marriages are another longstanding tradition. Â they're rarely presented as forced unions; instead, the clan frames them as familial responsibilities and carefully negotiates marriages between promising sorcerers. compatibility of cursed techniques, inherited traits, political connections & the future strength of the clan are all considered.
Asami has always been uncomfortable with this. Â she doesn't believe her family is evil. Â that's almost what makes leaving them impossible. they raised her. they trained her. they taught her everything she knows about her cursed technique. the abilities that make her an exceptional sorcerer were cultivated through years of their instruction.
and yet, she remembers what it cost. Â she can criticize the clan's methods while simultaneously knowing that without them, she wouldn't be the sorcerer she is today. Â that contradiction follows her everywhere.
𧎠Asami is considered one of the clan's greatest successes.  which is precisely why they don't want to let her go. her mathematical cursed technique had been recognized incredibly young. the clan realized that her brain was unusually suited to cursed-energy calculations & essentially built her education around exploiting that talent.
she was given tutors. then instructors. Â then actual enemies. now she's ridiculously good at mathematicsâbut there's a slightly uncomfortable question underneath it: does Asami love her cursed technique or was she taught to love it because the clan made it the center of her existence ?
𸠠RP HOOKS
đą  Asami can cook ridiculously well.  It's one of the few things she does where she doesn't feel like she's being evaluated.  she can make elaborate traditional Japanese meals from scratch, knows how to balance flavors almost instinctively & is annoyingly good at making whatever happens to be in the refrigerator into something delicious.
The irony: she will spend two hours preparing an elaborate meal and then immediately buy a cup of vending-machine ramen afterward because she felt like it. Â she has absolutely no shame about this. Â "Yes, I made the food. No, that doesn't mean I want it."
𼤠VENDING MACHINES.  Asami has an inexplicable fondness for vending machines.  canned coffee.  ramune.  hot tea.  weird seasonal drinks.  she'll stare at the selection for several minutes like she's solving a complex equation before pressing the same button she always presses.  it becomes a little ritual when she's traveling with other sorcerers.Â
đ¸ SAKURA TREES.  despite everything associated with her clan, Asami genuinely loves spring.  she likes visiting quieter shrines and temples when the cherry blossoms are blooming, especially early in the morning when there aren't many people around.  It's one of the few places where she doesn't feel like Araragi Asami, heir of the Araragi clan,  she's just a girl sitting beneath a tree.
âŠď¸ SHRINES & TEMPLES.  Asami grew up around traditions, so she has a strange relationship with religious sites. She knows the symbolism and history behind them better than most people, and she's very respectful about shrine etiquette.  But she also likes visiting ordinary temples that have nothing whatsoever to do with jujutsu. They're peaceful.  Nobody asks her about her cursed technique.  Nobody expects anything from her.
đ¤ KARAOKE.  Asami is normally extremely composed.  Controlled voice.  Perfect posture.  Measured responses. Then give her two or three cups of sake and put a karaoke microphone in her hand.  Disaster.  She becomes shockingly enthusiastic.  She sings with complete confidence, even when she's terrible at a particular song. She'll grab someone's hand to drag them into a duet. She'll dramatically dedicate songs to people. She'll insist she is absolutely sober. Â
 đ Some little RP hooksÂ
She challenges another sorcerer to a game of shogi and becomes increasingly competitive.
Someone asks her to cook for them. They don't realize they've just volunteered to be her taste tester.
She and another character get trapped waiting for a train and Asami becomes increasingly fascinated by the vending machines.
A clan member approaches her about an upcoming arranged marriage.
Someone accidentally witnesses Asami training with her clan and realizes just how brutal her childhood was.
Asami returns to the Araragi estate after being away for months.
Someone asks why she hasn't simply left the clan.
A younger Araragi child asks Asami if the clan really is as frightening as people say.
She invites someone to karaoke. They assume it'll be a quiet evening. It is not.
Asami gets tipsy and accidentally tells someone exactly what she thinks of the higher-ups.
Someone catches her eating vending-machine food immediately after she cooked an elaborate meal.
A clan elder praises her for everything she's accomplished, and Asami has no idea whether to feel proud or resentful.

" are you still mad at me? " from bachira to isagi -
"... A little." Isagi sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as he glanced at Bachira. The corner of his mouth twitched despite himself. "You put a fake spider in my locker, Bachira ! Â I'm still trying to figure out why you thought that was a good idea." he crossed his arms, frowning.
@joyokami send:
"Lord Zuko. Shall we duel? The winner gets to choose where we have dinner tonight. And before you objectâ... yes, I am perfectly aware that challenging the Fire Lord over dinner is ridiculous."
Zuko studied the person for a long time, his eyes piercing and impenetrable. Then, a very slight quiver appeared at the corner of the mouth⌠A smirk.
He slowly straightened from where he had been leaning against the courtyard pillar, the golden sunlight illuminating his dark hair and that old scar.
Without saying a word, he rolled one shoulder back and swung controlled spirals of fire with one hand, while grasping his Dao with the other.
Then came that low voice: "Are you serious?"
Seph's lips curled into an amused smile, her eyes flicking from the flames dancing around his hand to the Dao at his side. Â She stepped forward, the metal of her bracers giving a faint clink as she loosened her stance, clearly unfazed . . . With a sharp tug of her wrist, a thin metal cable slipped free from beneath her sleeve, coiling around her arm like a serpent.
"Deadly serious." Her gaze met his, playful challenge glinting in her eyes. "Though if you're already asking questions, Lord Zuko⌠perhaps you're worried about losing." she teased.

PROMPTS FROM THE MUSKETEERS: D'ARTAGNAN (2023) (adjust as needed)
We should prepare for war, not a wedding.
Itâs not a war youâre aiming for, but a crusade.
The king has no friends. Only subjects and enemies.
Learn to hold your tongue. Perhaps youâll be heard.
The queen prefers dishonor to war.
Be brief. My time is not my own.
I have traveled from afar but I need no lesson in manners.
I canât teach you how to live so Iâll teach you how to die.
You canât make your own justice. That right belongs to me and me alone.
I donât judge statues, I judge men.
He who is born noble must lead a worthy life.
You are here but I feel your mind is elsewhere.
I read the fear of losing me in your eyes
If your love for me means your death, I do not want to live another day!
You must forget me and you must forget this love.
From now on, we are all linked by a secret.
To combat oneâs enemy, one must know him well.
Have courage, but please be careful.
The wind changes every day, I change every second.
Oh, you drink like someone who has something to forget.
Is the Queen in danger?
Thereâs a spark in your eyes and from that spark, Iâll light a blaze to devour you.
Marriage is a war without a victor.
We will strike the kingdom at its heart.
They donât want my peace, let them have my war.

iâm not a bad person.
iâm not a bad person, and if you know whatâs good for you, youâll stop treating me like one.
the power of suggestion is a formidable thing.
[ NAME ], i know what i saw.
i told you to wait.
bad news, they ran out of pumpkin spice.

iâm exhausted.
iâm not having any fun.

horrible deeds have been committed here.
have you done bad things?
letâs get you straight home to bed.
⌠i said i was sorry.
iâll be anything you want me to be.
i mightâve caused some trouble.
youâve got dark corners that you havenât explored yet.
iâm not enough to save you, [ NAME ].
okay, are we having a moment?
thereâs only one way to make it stop and you know what it is, [ NAME ].
history books will have no mention of our names or our deeds.
i know you need space and i really tried to stay away, but i got worried.
iâve got you now, okay? i swear iâve got you.
youâve made an enemy this friday.
[ NAME ] would never say something like that.
iâd say âmake your peaceâ, but i hope you never find any.
i would shoot anybody for you.
i knew youâd rescue me.
i have enough friends.

weâre all on the same team, now, right?
you canât just ânopeâ this away! ânopeâ is not a viable plan.
[ NAME ], take a day off.
if it sounds like a hippie hemorrhoid cream, i donât want it in my cup.

how did you get in here?
stop pushing me. and while youâre at it, stop judging me.

did i just pass out?
i think weâve been asleep for a long - ass time.
time is running out.
you havenât been paying attention.
goodie, i love conditions. they really turn my crank.
you do not want to cross that line.
everybody keeps talking to me like iâm an idiot.
i know what i want.
you shot me, you bitch!
i have something to tell you, [ NAME ].
you donât have to be like this, [ NAME ].
you know weâre gonna have to talk about this eventually, right?
room down there for one more?
iâm not saying itâs gonna be okay. iâm just saying⌠iâm here.
i am all in.
[ NAME ], thank god youâre here.
itâs for your protection.
if you have nothing to hide, whatâs the problem?
sorry, i donât have time to play nice anymore.
usually sheâs a fun bitch, not a bitch bitch.
wake up. [ NAME ], wake up.
evil sniffs out evil.
youâre very nice, thank you for that.
i wonder how many generations have surveyed this land.
i think itâs starting to settle in.
donât shoot, iâm just the messenger.
it was a long time ago.
you are kicking ass at not helping right now, you know?
we should talk.
you are such an asshole.
[ NAME ], hey. i need a favor.
i told you not to make this weird.
i hate doing everything sober.
pace yourself, thereâs SO much more to judge.
you donât become [ NAME ] by confronting problems head - on.
just shut your mouth.
okay, yeah, i guess i deserved that.
see? this is what you get when youâre friends with a nark.
step out of my way.
aren't we having a good time?
okay, let me do the talking.
justice delayed is still justice served.
you are so pretty and i like you so much!
youâre drunk! and in trouble.
this whole âlone wolfâ thing youâve got going on isnât gonna cut it.
donât even think about it.
did you mean any of those things you said?
youâre lucky nobody saw that.
why donât you distract me?
this is only gonna get worse if you donât decide to help me.
you really donât care about any of this, do you?
iâll be gone long before then.
so this is where it all beganâŚ
itâs hard not to feel like an outsider, even for me.
i remember what it feels like to be new.
hey, donât do anything stupid, okay?
shut the hell up.
at this point, iâm no longer afraid of the consequences.
how did you come by it? the wound?
youâre lying.
you have to do something for me.
why wouldnât you tell me?
i donât need you to make decisions for me.
donât follow me.
why did you bring me here?
i deserve to be saved. i do.
try to remember who you were.
trust me, weâll meet again.
i promise i will never hurt you.
come back to me.
i donât want to hurt you.
eyes on the prize.
surely youâll want to hear my offer.
sorry i was a no - show.
arenât you gonna say goodnight?
iâm too hangry to have this conversation.
itâs okay, itâs better that i know the truth.
am i the biggest cliche ever?
i know what youâre going through.
youâre so lovely.
you know what iâd never do? tell you what to think or feel.
i never drink alone. itâs sad and depressing.
i would do anything to get out of here for just one night.
say something⌠preferably encouraging.
is this your thing? cute but annoying?
i canât protect you if iâm dead.
i think i need to leave.
you canât run away from this.
you repeat this convo, you die.
donât lie to me, [ NAME ].
you and me, weâre good people.
hey, listen. iâm gonna get you out of here, okay?
sometimes i think you really must hate me.
what are you so afraid of?
i always knew youâd be the death of me, anyway.
thereâs nothing you couldâve done.
this canât be happening.
i just really thought i was doing the right thing.
i lied to you, and i shouldnât have.
i have never loved anyone the way that i love you.
can we all just act like weâre winning for once?
i wasnât expecting you to be cool about it, but the pouting is getting old.
am i the only one who didnât know?
i appreciate everything youâve done.
what are the chances youâll sit this one out?
[ NAME ]âs never gonna forgive me.
you would have done the same thing.
donât go.
i learned my lesson.
i should have trusted you.
i thought it was your fault.
i plan to exploit you.
just so everyoneâs clear, iâm my own damn weapon.
sorry iâm late, i kinda died.
mercy comes in many forms.
i will kill us both before i let you walk in service to the devil.
if i die, they canât use me.
i am so very tired, [ NAME ].
see you on the other side.
i care more about this than anything else in the world.
you are⌠extraordinary.
iâm with you, [ NAME ].
