Happy June and happy Pride, everyone! If there's any month where I actually make my announcement post on time, this is the one to do it - next Saturday (June 6th) will be the first Saturday of a new month, which means it's time for another art party hosted by my guild, [VS] Verdant Shield!
For those not familiar, art parties are a concept carried over from Final Fantasy XIV: in-game get-togethers for artists of all kinds to hang out, chat, and create together! For GW2 parties there’s more of an emphasis on hanging out and gathering references during the party itself, and then in the days/weeks following to work on your creations at your own pace and then post to the shared art party tag. We’ve used the same one (#VSArtParty) since the very beginning so you can go allll the way back and explore what people have made! The most important thing to keep in mind though is this: the ‘goal’ of an art party isn’t to be drawn, but to draw others, and share with the community!
Time and /squadjoin information is below the cut, but will also be posted again on the day of the party as squads go up!
Location Information:
I've decided to make the Lion's Arch Gate in Gendarran Fields the Official June/Pride Party Locationâ„¢, since it's a spot that Tyria Pride marchers have passed through every year, and will pass through again later this month during the event! It's super easy to get to via either the literally-right-there Cornucopian Fields Waypoint, or by walking north out of Lion's Arch (Trader's Forum Waypoint would be closest)!
Time & Squad Details:
As always, there’ll be two parties - the first one on EU servers and the second on NA ones - with an hour break in between!
The EU server party will begin at 9pm Central European Summer Time (aka 3pm Eastern Daylight Time or 5 hours before in-game reset). I’ll be hosting this one on my EU alt account, so please either /whisper or /squadjoin Paranomalous Plexxi for a taxi invite if you don’t end up on the right map!
The NA server party will begin 1 hour after the EU party’s official end, at 7pm Eastern Daylight Time (aka 1am Central European Summer Time or 1 hour before in-game reset). I’ll be on my main account for this one, so please /whisper or /squadjoin Kirslyn for a taxi invite if you don’t see my customary white cat tag hanging around on your map!

You of course aren't obligated to change up your outfit for the festivities, but feel free to do so (or bring any of those Pride-themed cryptids I've seen lurking out there) if you feel like it! I've been enjoying drawing in my sketchbook. Today I come with cute frogs and a Frookie. I still make the mistake of thinking I have layers, but that's what a sketchbook is for~
I'm definitely getting more comfortable drawing the froggies but I definitely need some more time playing around with the design of them~

A two page doodle session in my sketchbook. About two weeks ago I started drawing more on paper again after 10+ ish years? This is a Sylvari based on the Pale Tree from Guild Wars 2 with some original ideas of my own.
I def need to relearn some things while drawing on paper but it's been very nice to get back to it, thanks for watching!
I finally fleshed out Aly's entire team. Think names, classes, the story how they met and their back story. It's nice to finally get it down on paper. The next step is drawing them. But for now a smol summary of them! :D
Aly: Leader of the group and elementalist. You guys have seen her a few times and might know she comes from a noble family. She is close to her younger sister and left her house after her parents stood by the sidelines and did nothing when Briar attacked Divinity's Reach.
Kane: A Sylvari ranger/druid who was stationed in Caledon Forest to help with the Risen in the area. When Aly comes through Caledon he recognises her from his dream and starts tagging along. knowing she is important to fulfilling his dream and goals.
Veh'Ki: Asuran mesmer who specialises in prosthetics. She had a small role on Taimi's team and left after she finished her job. She met Aly and Kane when they were in Dry Top looking for information and guidance. While she is a master at prosthetics her love lies with tattooing and her two grandkids she took under her ears.
Burke & Gil Whiskers: Burke is a Norn guardian and his partner, a Charr thief named Gil. They were the last two to join the party in The Silverwastes. They were evacuating people after thorns rampaged through the area.
Aaaaasnd there you have it. Rare bits of lore dropped...at 3 am haha. Excuse any grammar mistakes I'll fix them later :')

I have this idea that ever since that "date" during the end of Gyala Delve story, Canach would brag he actually dated Commander for real. He'd go ahead and add even more details.
I happened to pick Canach during the story. Best choice ever.
I'm here with something else, forgs~! I love froggies so much and I've been wanting to create a froggy birthday calendar since forever. One thing was that I never really draw frogs? So I started sketching a bunch of them and seeing what I liked and how I wanted to draw them.
I landed somewhere in between frog, alligator and Yoshi? Lol either way I love them and I really liked the left bottom one and the grandpa one <3
