‘I'll find no peace 'til I know you 'Til I wish you well 'Til I am not the enemy I'll find no peace 'til I hold my light Knowing you did right And your love is everything I need’
‘Nor will it be any the more good for being eternal: that which lasts long is no whiter than that which perishes in a day.’

‘... All men are bores. The word itself suggests the possibility of a subdivision. It may just as well indicate a man who bores others as one who bores himself. Those who bore others are the mob, the crowd, the infinite multitude of men in general. Those who bore themselves are the elect, the aristocracy; and it is a curious fact that those who do not bore themselves usually bore others, while those who bore themselves entertain others.’
“My father picked me up from school one day, and we played hooky and went to the beach. It was too cold to go in the water, so we sat on a blanket and ate pizza. When I got home, my sneakers were full of sand, and I dumped them on my bedroom floor. I didn't know the difference. I was six. My mother screamed at me for the mess, but he wasn't mad. He said that billions of years ago, the world's shifting and oceans moving brought that sand to that spot on the beach. And then I took it away. ‘Every day,’ he said, ‘we change the world.’ Which is a nice thought until I think about how many days and lifetimes I would need to bring a shoe full of sand home until there is no beach. Until it made a difference to anyone. Every day we change the world. But to change the world in a way that means anything, that takes more time than most people have. It never happens all at once. It’s slow. It’s methodical. It’s exhausting. We don't all have the stomach for it.”

Chinese Takeout by Signe Pierce
“That wasn’t a true dream, but an ancient organic memory millions of years old. The innate releasing mechanisms laid down in your cytoplasm have been awakened. The expanding sun and rising temperatures are driving you back down to the spinal levels into the drowned seas of the lowest layers of your unconscious, into the entirely new zone of the neuronic psyche. This is the lumbar transfer, total psychic recall. We really remember these swamps and lagoons.”
Pierre Wayser

North Korea meets Wes Anderson
In what was likely one of the most unexpected surprises in the life of architecture critic Oliver Wainwright, his trip to North Korea revealed a variety of spaces with an eerie resemblance to Wes Anderson’s carefully curated movie sets. The use of primary colours and muted pastels, as well as a heavy emphasis on symmetry and proportion, evoke the trademark aura of the director’s acclaimed interiors.

I still don’t know what desires you have or may have had for your life. I don’t know much about the things that’ve made you who you are. I don’t know from where your love comes. Neither do I know if you have ever wished to shower it upon a son or daughter of your own. You can’t possibly be that person that comes to mind when I look at this photograph - you must have some detracting quality. But I just can’t conceive of what that would be. In my 22 years of knowing you, never have you once exposed me to anything of that sort. I don’t know if it hurts you that I don’t know all these things about you. Maybe you don’t care, and all is well, just as long as you know that i’m happy and healthy. But I feel as though time is running short for me to do something I should’ve done long ago. I’m clueless as to what, but I feel like time is running short.
