This has been so hyped in Finland that it was always going to be a bit of a disappointment. I would have preferred a non-fiction book with more detail, or a novel with a stronger narrative, but it didn't quite offer enough of either.

I enjoy reading Bukowski, and this was good for the first half, but it became incredibly repetitive by the end.

A rather flat and forgettable reading experience.

I'm getting closer to reading Moby Dick...

I was disappointed with this, it somehow began too abruptly and I never really got the chance to connect with the characters.

An incredible book, one of the best I've read in a long time and one I've already recommended to a lot of people. Every sentence perfectly crafted, but rushing past in the hurry of the humbling, humane story.

A book club book that was more interesting to discuss than it was to read. It was entertaining enough, and very zeitgeisty, but it was too drawn out and really began to repeat itself in the final third.

This has been on my shelf for a long time, waiting for a winter read. It's very different to anything else I've read of hers, without a thriller formula and with a much more personal writing style.
