So here's an essay caption because this came from a vision for one of my fic wips and I felt like this art couldn't do it justice:
She doesn't think she's going to last another ten seconds if Tori does not stop disappearing and then reappearing from the sea of people with identical robes, the only thing signifying it's her being the blue and purple stars attached on her cap.
Tori, stop. Tori, fuck where'd you go? Fuck.
This moment is critical. She's been anticipating the entire week for the feeling to kick in. That comes between flashes and shouts and cheers and breaths and the smell of collective sweat, and makes you feel that the end of what you've gotten used to is so close it finally feels real. It makes even the coldest people feel funny in the stomach, and urges them to do something stupid.
She thought it would come during one of the graduation rehearsals. Then she thought it would come during glam time at Tori's house when Cat had to use the bathroom. Then she thought it would happen when Tori finished her performance at the night gala. It did not.
"Can you hold this for a sec?"
"Okay to the left! No fuck to the LEFT"
"Where the fuck is my cap?"
"Hey could you take a picture for me an-"
"Shut up." She has absolutely no time for that.
Tori is finally slowing down. She signs in relief and allows her legs to make more relaxed steps,, just before she realize she's quite close to the door, because of fucking course it's 9 and Tori's going home. That is bad. It means no time to stand like a statue right behind Tori's back contemplating her life choices or choosing spots to bury herself after she says no.
"That was not my good angle"
"Omg this one looks so pretty"
"Can someone see my fucking cap i swear to god im not paying for this shit"
She's quite overstimulated by now, and she wants to shove her own cap into whoever's yelling's mouth.
But Tori's seeing her ride slowly turning to the front of the building. She's waving her hand so the driver notice.
Her heart is pounding. She holds on to her robe, tight. This is pathetic. She wants that fucking feeling to die down and fuck off. She might stand right here and do nothing until it does.
But another wave surges in without warning, and Jade feels like she can smell and touch this closure, this ending of a major chapter of her existence. She steps forward.
Oh I- I spilled coffee on him
We both go to school here and it's not gonna be much for either of us if we're fighting all the time
Yeah 'cause you're demented
I can't do that to a friend
Coffee eyes flashes with a turn as she carefully places a hand on her shoulder.
