Aaah, well. Everyone is different when they are given the silent treatment. Some take it as a sign of disrespect, I suppose. Its distressing when someone won't acknowledge you, feels like they won't listen.
Perhaps instead of ignoring, you could speak in a soothing tone and not get upset yourself.
It is hard to be angry and yell at someone who doesn't express the same intensity.
