It may seem minor, but I am trying to put more of myself out there so anyone coming to my blog for the first time will know a bit more about the blogger.

Yes I am 60 and I have been on Tumblr for a really long time.

Yes I have Klinefelter's Syndrome. It is likely you have not heard of it. I am male and have 2 X chromosomes and 1 Y chromosome. I have a myriad of health issues as a result some of which are due to my late diagnosis in my 40s. By that time osteoporosis had taken hold. I am fine though and am taking better care of myself now that I ever have before. I have posts that are tagged if you want to learn more about my experience.

Yes I am on Bluesky. I love it there and have found it to be diverse and supportive and loving. I post more of my day to day life over there.

We got home from Ohio on Friday night. We had theatre tickets for both weekend days and opted to go to both performances to experience the healing nature of theatre.

Both performances had a strong theme of death as it turns out. On Saturday we attended the Met in HD performance of El Ultimo Sueno de Frida y Diego. In short Frida has been dead for 3 years, Diego summons her to the land of the living on the Day of the Dead, after much consideration she goes, and in the end takes Diego back with her.

Then on Sunday we saw a production of Marie and Rosetta about the lives of Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Marie Knight. We sat down and looked at the stage to see a funeral parlour with 3 caskets arrayed. I admit to having serious thoughts of walking out at that moment.

But we stayed and it was excellent with wonderful uplifting music. However the death theme was very present here too and I barely held it together at a few points.

After we got home from both performances, I ate a little something and went to bed for the remainder of the day.

However sleep is not an escape or a balm. I cannot stay asleep for more than a few hours at a time so I doomscroll til I get sleepy again. Also I have dreamt of my mother. Dreams that leave me panicky, not relieved.

I am writing this as a therapy with no real expectation that anyone will read it. I find that journaling on a public forum is more effective - more present - than writing my thoughts in a book and then shelving it to ignore forever. Doing it in this manner keeps it present for me so I can work through it.

If I feel like it later, I may go to the grocery store. And I am going to try to not eat my emotions.

Will see how it goes.

Yesterday I did not get dressed, ate junk and slept a whole lot.
