It’s impossible to make any sense of what Dear Leader thinks he is accomplishing by trashing one of his own ideological allies, never mind stupidly and childishly insulting a very long-standing US ally. But here we are, and it’s clear that Italian PM Giorgia Meloni is pissed.

So, now the messaging around unproven election fraud is that it’s so insidious it can’t be proven. On Meet the Press, as he stormed out on Kristin Welker for her challenging his baseless bullshit, Dear Leader insisted “There’s more evidence than ever presented,” which is quite a statement given that NO such evidence exists . And then on Monday, MAGA Mike trotted out this astonishing assertion. There is little doubt they are laying the groundwork for some massive chicanery around this year’s elections.

By many accounts, we have reached the high water mark of the corruption of the US Department of Justice this past week. This just happened to coincide for with a small bit of personal drama. I’ve been a bit unwell the last couple of weeks. What I found out last Monday is that I had somehow developed a rather nasty infection in my right (drawing) arm, probably staph, although the medicos never quite figured that out. This development inspired this idea earlier in the week, but my arm was too sore to draw for very long, so it took me a few days. In the meantime, it appears that even many staunch Republicans in the US Senate are gagging on the “weaponization settlement” slush fund that Todd Blanche had cooked up for Dear Leader. In any case, in my relief at watching this nasty infection that had been menacing my right arm begin to heal, this excellent visual metaphor for the entire situation came to me.

The story about Kash Patel snorkeling at the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor surfaced again today with more details of the FBI Director’s tasteless recreation. I’d started this drawing on Wednesday, but have been fighting off a bug the last couple of days, feeling pretty lousy. The revival of the story inspired me to finish it, as I’m feeling a bit better today.

The latest consumer price report indicates US inflation has accelerated to an annual rate of 3.8%, the highest level of inflation since May 2023. Who should we blame for that?

The federal judiciary is being loaded with MAGA freaks. Meanwhile, the Department of Justice is offering $25K signing bonuses for new federal prosecutors. It seems nobody wants to work there. The erosion of the federal judicial system under Trumpism continues apace.

The charges against James Comey filed today is the most banana republic nonsense we’ve yet seen from the organization that calls itself the US Department of Justice. I don’t know how these bozos can even look at themselves in the mirror.

Lindsey Graham is such a lickspittle, but, evidently, one helluva dancer.

Dear Leader immediately seized Saturday night’s events at the White House Correspondents Dinner as an opportunity to peddle his bloated ballroom vanity project. That’s the first thing I was thinking about. How about you?

The conventional wisdom is that Todd Blanche is auditioning to get the permanent Attorney General post. He’s now saying the quiet part aloud, freely acknowledging that it’s the AG’s job to go after whoever Dear Leader tells him to, and then lamely asserts this is exactly how the previous administration operated. Never mind that this administration seems to have broken every norm in the running of DOJ that had been in practice at least since the Nixon years. Keep an eye on this slippery bastard.
