I had a previous blog, but I was at risk of being doxxed by someone who wasn't part of the Scarecrow fandom because I accidentally misunderstood and interacted with an illiterate transphobe who then proceeded to stalk me :) I will not be getting into any discourse on this blog, it is strictly for fanfiction. Anyway, that's as much as I'll get into it because I don't want another shitstorm.

Some might call him a prude, others might call him a beast in the bedroom, but to be honest? I think he’s a lot deeper than just that. TO say he’s repressed would be an understatement, but with the right person? He’s definitely dominant when comfortable around them.
You see, Jonathan grew up in a very religious environment, and as anyone whose grown up in similar situations knows, that kind of place can be very suffocating. In Scarecrow: Year One, Great granny accused Jonathan of masturbating to a classic price of literature. She forbade books, and also forbade any from of self expression and exploration.
It’s not hard to imagine that he had to restrain himself from those sinful thoughts and actions. For he knew, if he broke the taboo then the devil would come up from Hell and beat his ass. Or at least, that’s what he was told.
Of course, he grew and older and wiser, and eventually with the downfall of his Great Granny, he was free. Free to be himself, to be a man. No longer a frightened little boy.
Then there’s self described bibliophile Jonathan Crane from the Master of Fear story line, like any boy, he had a crush on the popular girl, Sherry Squires. Unfortunately, Sherry was dating his high school bully, Bo Griggs. Things did not end well for either party in that story, Jonathan was tricked by the duo and heartbroken. Revenge was had,but it didn’t help the heartbreak.
Jonathan has not had a good track record with women, Becky, Sherry, Linda…all of them have hurt him in one way or another. So, one should easily come to the conclusion that has trust issues. This makes dating any gender harder for him, because he knows how people perceive and how people will betray him.
That said, if he DID end up lucky and found the right person, well that would be a miracle. That person would have to have a lot of patience, because it would take time for Jonathan to open up again. he was not raised in an open minded environment, and that makes it hard for him to express himself.
But, for examples sake, lets say he did end up getting in a serious relationship, what then? Well, for one thing, he’d become the initiator. Once comfortable, he’d be open to forehead kisses, and gentle hand holding. Or perhaps reading in the same room, cuddled up next to his partner. Sure, things would be different if it was Harley, or Jervis…or perhaps someone outside of the rogues. But one thing stays the same, the high levels of attention and love.
Of course, I feel like it’s worth mentioning that it is still difficult, not physically but mentally. Being repressed during such a young age can lead to confusion and it really is a roll of the dice if something is going to trigger or repulse. He may not always want to be intimate, but in his heart he really does care, depite not being able to set his thoughts in motion. It’ll take someone very willing to make compromises to be with him.
And in bed? Well, it wholly depends on the partner, he’d lean towards dominance with some, and submission with others. He’s willing to try new things, and is surprisingly great with aftercare. He does not push his partner, and puts a great deal of emphasis in keeping them happy and comfortable. The intimacy shared between those sheets is sacred to him, soft words exchanged between moments of ecstasy.
I firmly stand behind the idea that Jonathan despite his villainous nature, could warm up and wholly welcome a mutual partnership with someone. He is not concerned with gender, race or creed. He is only concerned with the trust they hold within, and he takes any relationship seriously.

I honestly didn't know it came in gel. That's really cool! How does it work exactly?
As for the needles, that's another fun thing. I know he says he detests them in year one, which is really odd considering future scarecrows and the needle glove. I often wonder if it was a creative writing decision to have him say that.
Whether he uses the needles or gel, I think he would jump at the opportunity to help another transmasc person. To me, he's very much a "do it first and find out later" type, in the sense that he'd take risks to reach his goals. And Jonathan with a trans partner makes me happy T4T Fuck Yeah

You hated spring in Gotham.
It was wet, cold, and the weather never seemed like it knew what it wanted to do. Even now, as soft rays of sun peeked through the cloudy sky, it seemed like the sun was desperately trying to come out and make itself known. The grass was muddy, the smell of earth and petrichor clinging to your nose. It’d rained recently, but still lingered in that in-between stage where new life was trying to emerge from Gotham’s rotten roots.
“What are you thinking?” Jonathan’s voice beside you suddenly caught your attention.
Your gaze slid his way. You were sitting together on a small bench in Robinson Park. In the summer, long stretches of green lawn expanded for several yards, flowers bloomed bright and colorful in their flower pots, and the tree leaves swayed gently in the breeze. But now, in this weather, everything carried an air of dead to it. The grass was browned, plants wilted, life struggling to begin anew.
You really, really hated this time of year.
“I’m thinking it was a stupid idea to come out here,” you sighed, shoving your hands into your jacket pockets.
His head tilted to the side, dark eyes casting a curious glance your way. Orange locks of hair fell into his eyes, but he made no move to brush them away. His lips pressed into a thin line, and slight crease appeared in between his brows.
“Why?” he asked, his tone an obvious press for an answer.
“Because everything is just…ew. Just dead,” you replied, almost a child-like whine. As if in protest, you swung your legs against the bench as if you were on a swing set.
Jonathan smirked, a low chuckle emanating from his throat. Carefully, his large hand hovered over your own, before he gently placed it atop your palm. His long fingers threaded against yours, his skin warm and calloused from so many weeks of work. The feel of his skin made your heart leap into your throat, your blood rush through your ears.
“But what is death if not simply a cycle of life, my dear?” he asked. He squeezed his hand in yours, and your stomach tightened with excitement in response. He nodded off to the right, making you cast your gaze in the same direction.
There, just a few yards away, was a woman who was busy feeding several crows. She sat on a bench, tossing birdseed onto the concrete at her feet while the crows hopped around and greedily ate up what they could. Nearby, you noticed some of the plants taking root next to her had begun to bloom. The wilted ivy and petals had withered and crumbled away, making room for new plant life to grow in all its green, life-like glory. The bud of a rose was just beginning to blossom. Your breath caught in your throat, a sudden happiness swelling in your chest at the sight.
“See?” Jonathan said, and as he spoke, his fingers drifted upwards to tuck a lock of hair behind your ear, his fingertips delicately skimming against your flesh. “All you need to do is observe a little closer, and you’ll see that new life can be found everywhere you look.”
He was right: now that you were noticing it, you couldn’t unsee it. The vibrant plants beginning to emerge from the thawing ground, the animals coming out of their hidey holes to bathe in the peeking sunlight, the smell of fresh grass on the wind. It was oddly…comforting. Reminding you that every season brought change and something new.
You laughed, finally looking to him again, watching his lips turn upwards. “Okay, I see your point, Dr. Crane. Thank you for blessing me with your scientific wisdom.”
“One doesn’t need to be a scientist to know that change is not something to be afraid of,” he replied, though his eyes narrowed slightly. “Unless you are afraid, my dear?”
You looked back at the view around you, taking it all in. Maybe, once upon a time, his guess at your fear might’ve been correct. But the way he’d opened your eyes to the ever-changing world around you dissipated that fear, dissolved it, melded it into something more – into a comforting joy you couldn’t quite explain. Like something you’d bottled up inside no longer had a reason to take up space in your mind and heart anymore.
Smiling, you said, “Not anymore, Jonathan. Not anymore.”
And as you spoke, the clouds in the sky began to part, casting golden rays of sunshine down onto the both of you. You sighed, leaning against him and resting your head against his shoulder. He smelled of chemicals, but you didn’t mind.
Because right now, in this very moment, you had nothing to be afraid of anymore.

Maybe once or twice a day, typically when he wakes up and before bed. He may throw an extra in there if his partner is being overly cute or does something thoughtful.

He wants to say it all the time but also doesn't want the words to lose meaning (words can be costly you know, especially when you want them to say more than one thing). He definitely says it most out of the three. Definitely when his partner wakes up and before they go to bed. Honestly his partner just has to be near him, perfectly content and he'll get the urge to tell them he loves them.

Jonathan will likely wait for you to say it first and then he'll say it back. Only ever saying it maybe once or twice a week, usually when his partner does something sweet or something that ensures that they love him.

You keep your arms crossed and defiantly look away from him and towards the couch he placed you on to do his 'therapy session.' You were tempted to put your tongue out to him but... he'd just take that as more evidence to treat you childishly.
"I can sit here until you talk to me. Or if you continue to not talk to me, I can leave you alone for a few days like you want." You slowly turn back to him, a confused look on his face. You stay silent for a few minutes, just staring at him and his blank face. "Fine." You look away as you begin to speak. "When I was young..."

"Just a session, I promise it'll help!" She's a lot more energetic today, but you keep your eyes on the mindless trashy t.v. show she has plastered on the screen, keeping silent instead of answering.
She jumps up from her seat and stands in front of the screen. "Well, kiddo? Wadda' ya' say? Let mommy take a crack at the beautiful brain of yours?" You just shift your head to the left to look past her, and then she shifts to the left and then you go to the right... so you go into a back in forth of movement until you give up.
Throwing your hands in the air, "Fine! What do you want to know? What do you want me to say? When I was born no one showed up to my birth including my parents!?" She pauses for a moment, processing what you said. "Now - wait. That doesn't make sense..."
'Pumpkin, Therapy can really help with traumatic events-" "Like being kidnapped and taken away from your family?" She looks away from you in momentary shame. "Yes... Like being taken care of by someone who knows better than you."
It started an argument between the two of you, and you got punished.

Jonathan would never dead-name you, heck he doesn't even know what a dead-name is (bless him) so I suppose you could play tricks on him if wanted. Honestly, he probably just accepts your name like a normal person.
He doesn't realize you're trans at first, doesn't even matter if you pass because to him you're just one of his male friends but with a weirder haircut. (not that he's judging) So as you two get to know him, you might wanna drop the ball. But be cautious, he's gonna be very curious from a medical perspective. Of course, you being tans doesn't change his mind about you. Just broadened his horizons (this is a boy from the south, remember that) Remember, he values character, not what's in your pants.
Romantic:
Maybe you two decide to date. Maybe he develops feelings.Jonathan is very closeted due to internalize trauma and great granny. It takes him some time to admit these feelings, because he really values your friendship and doesn't want to ruin it.
BUT. get this. Things change once he "comes out" to you. He becomes much more assertive and more like the man you know and love. He's not hiding himself anymore, perhaps he even admits his rogue doings.
I could see you two growing really close. Perhaps even in villainy. He's still curious about the whole "I'm gay, you're trans" thing but he more or less treats you with respect. By this, I mean he has a lot of questions and can get handsy but he's still figuring it out. Give him time.

- This relationship is not entirely healthy but also not entirely unhealthy
- He started off stalking you because you peaked his interest and would try to interact with you as much as he could, though he never hurt you or even gassed you, the worst he did was frightening you just by being him
- He confesses his interest in you first, if you like him back great, if you don't, he still wants to see you every so often
- He gets possessive and jealous sometimes
- He's eccentric and there's always a method to his madness that isn't clear but always works out. Like he'll escape in a way that has you sure he died, and he'll pop up the next day like nothing happened.
- He's very touchy and sometimes fidgets with your clothes or hair without realizing it
- He introduces you to his crows
- He was abused by his mother (hence why he killed her) so try to be sensitive about that for his sake
- He sometimes plays around with toys because he feels like it, he feels safe with you and sometimes age regresses (due to trauma from his mom) and only comes clean about it to you once he knows he can trust you
- If anyone dares hurt you, he will kill them unless you talk him out of it
- He loves his cake, he has a mega sweet tooth. If something is too sugary for your taste, give it to him pls
