The interracial kiss was originally going to be Spock/Uhura, but it was later given to Kirk so that tv networks couldn't use Spock being "half alien" to water down the message.

For the record, Leonard Nimoy adored Spock/Uhura's relationship in AOS. He gave Zachary Quinto indight into Spock's character and was "extremely jealous" of Quinto's role after seeing Spuhura on the big screen.

I totally feel you Nonny. I intended to do a rewatch of the first 2 seasons in time for the 3rd season but things happened in my life and anyways I'm only halfway on episode 5 of season 1 of my rewatch. Like don't get me wrong I do appreciate the Uhura centric episodes I think they're great and I appreciate them. but one of the star trek youtubers I follow is very unhappy with season 3 of snw and I'm just preparing for the worst regarding Uhura. (if anyone is interested I'm talking about Jessie Gender and her second channel Jessie after Dark where she does lots of reviews I don't watch everytthing she does but she is a generally good resource for all star trek stuff).

I've heard a term come up for female characters before like putting them on a pedestal? (iirc its pedestalization but it doesn't look very tidy). I'm kinda afraid thats what they're doing to Uhura. They bring her out for like one shining showcase episode a season and then they put her back in a box. they don't let her grow organically.

Like I'd love to see more opinions on this from our followers but please remember I'm the only one that answers asks here so please be patient with me.

Spock and Nyota swapping tea recommendations and going out for tea to cute cafes together and bonding over tea, spicy chai teas (Nyota’s preference) and bitter green teas (Spock’s somfort drink tbh) and all sorts of tea and just teas

Spock’s arm hair

That’s a thing in itself okay

Nyota introducing Spock to ice cream and Spock deciding that perhaps the Terran tradition of large consumption of frozen dairy food products when particularly upset is not so illogical after all
