As per the source material, she is poor and has two older brothers: Dusolino and Tesifone. She lived in the backstreets and also her mom, Soriana, is dead because she dies in the source material. Her mother didn’t have much, but what little she had was all inherited by her older brothers. All Constantino had was a friend, a girl named Fiordiana who had no family and often came by to hang out.

Being poor sucks but Fiordiana has always had overly grand and childish dreams of wealth and truly believes that she can achieve it. Somehow. Yet, Constantino never dared to hope so big.

This is where I start getting vague because I haven’t figured out all the details yet… basically, Fiordiana distorts into looking like an anthropomorphic black cat. After a whole lotta insane and immoral schemes from Fiordiana (and Constantino just going along with it because oh well guess my bestie is crazy now or whatever), they somehow find themselves gaining the interest of a rich man and his daughter, Elisetta. No, I haven’t figured out how. I’m not very good at this. They’re taken care of, technically, but they’re also mistreated. I just also haven’t figured out how they’re mistreated. I’m not getting any better at this. Anyway, the distorted Fiordiana ends up getting worse because she’s been distorted for an awfully long time and her mental state is still deteriorating more and she ends up becoming an Abnormality.

The mask that Constantino carries with her is an EGO Gift from the Abnormality that Fiordiana became (I’ll design that eventually, I promise). Constantino remained trapped with Elisetta for a good while longer after that. Also, Elisetta’s father died. Oh well. Elisetta frequently refers to herself as The Queen and calls Constantino “My King”.

This is Constantino Fortunato!! Based off the very old story by the same name, Constantino Fortunato (also known as Lucky Constantino).

Originally, she was going to be based off of Puss in Boots, but looking into it I found this story which is supposedly the oldest variation of the “Puss in Boots” type of story that we know of. I read it. Found it interesting. And decided to use it as reference.

I have made a LOT of art of her and will be making more, so I’ll be posting an awful lot of her 😭 Oops.

Her design is inspired by odd-eyed white cats, but she isn’t the cat character within the source material. I wanted to do a white cat and black cat type of duo. The cat character (Who isn’t named in the original story but I have decided to call her Fiordiana) has black hair with green eyes but distorts into looking like an anthropomorphic cat. I’ll definitely draw the other characters in Constantino’s backstory and Canto eventually.

As much as I’d like to talk about her lore more, I am so very sleepy.
