i honestly don’t know? like it depends what’s classed as short but i like a good medium of like 15/20k that’s nice and doesn’t take too long to read but enough time to relax. some of my favourite fics are long ones (and i mean really long) but i think that’s because i get so invested in the characters and their growth- but you can totally do that in a shorter fic too! i love when there’s like a series of works where you have continuations or prequels, like mad honeys parentverse (little things i think it’s called) where they explore different ships and it’s kid fics and i’m whipped sjjs
