One of Devo’s first shows was a private party supporting Sun Ra, where they were billed as a covers band. They went on in theatre guises and infuriated most of the crowd who left before Sun Ra had a chance to play. In this show they allegedly played ‘Jocko Homo’ for over 30 minutes, during which an audience member took a stage microphone and insulted the band. The show finally ended when a promoter pulled the plug on the power, but a four track recording still managed to catch an argument and fist-fight between Gerald Casale and the promoter.

The theme for the mail art show is yellow. If you're not too good at geography, you might try to figure out which state it is and not recognize it is actually a mash up of North American states and provinces.

Issue 56 of my mail art assembling zine The Rubber Postcard are in the mail. Submissions are open for issue 57. Submission Guidelines: Postcard size work: 4x6 inches (10.16x15.24 centimeters) Rubber stamp/eraser/found stamp work only. A small amount of drawing or coloring in is ok but not excessively so. No collage please(there are plenty of other zines for that kind of work). 13 multiples or individual pieces signed and numbered. Only original hand stamped work please(no photocopies). There is no theme. Deadline: Ongoing(issues will be sent out as enough work arrives to be collated). Message me for the address if you need it.
