#CelsoPiña ¡Presente! Love cumbias- listening, dancing to them... trying to play them on a drum or guitar lol... Celso Piña was one of my favorites. Saw him many times over the years but the first time I heard him was right after New Year's 2002 at a restaurant on the side of the road btwn Oaxaca City & the Pacific coast (we went the long way thru Tehuantepec). Was eating & was like "Who *is* this playing?!?" Btwn Celso & El Gran Silencio & Control Machete, Monterrey music (Avanzada regia) had been poppin at the turn off the century. One of the downest things that I ever heard a professional musician do was after his two most successful commercial albums his next album was dedicated to the life of Che Guevara (“El Canto De Un Rebelde Para Un Rebelde”). He wanted to inspire listeners and his fans to read and learn about Che's history and what he meant to América Latina. That was bad-ass. That was as chingón a move as I'd ever heard anyone rockin an accordion make. That was Celso. QDEP Maestro... 🙏✊ https://www.instagram.com/p/B1cgu1WgOsS/?igshid=1jhhp03ch6rr0
