also, as a follow up to my last post about steve becoming a firefighter: contrary to popular belief, steve CAN keep his cool during high stress situations. sure, he’s dramatic and does freak out, and yes it’s lol funny meme worthy times, but he does keep a level head when it really matters. he is perfectly capable of shoving down his fears and anxieties to face a dangerous scenario head on, in a way that admittedly can be foolish and reckless ( most notably when a love one is involved he wishes to protect ), but it doesn’t make his bravery is any less remarkable and as far as i’m concerned, that would just contribute towards his proficiency at being a good firefighter. especially with the proper training he would obviously receive to harness his natural instincts to be selfless and noble towards doing the right thing in a more safe and effective way

alright, i’ve been watching 9.11: l.one s.tar with @rebelcliche and it’s made me realize that steve would be the PERFECT firefighter. he’s brave, selfless, always literally jumps head first into danger to save others, puts everyone else first even if it’s at the expense of himself. he’d almost be too perfect bc he has that tendency to be such a captain save a hoe that he’d never so much as hesitate to go into full blown hero mode without even thinking twice about it ( even if he never feels good enough to be considered a hero, oop ) SO, now i’m thinking that after initially struggling with deciding what he wants to do with his life and which direction to go in since nothing quite feels right for him, maybe smth happens ( such as a car accident he witnesses which immediately has him springing into action to save someone, maybe even being mistaken by a stranger for a firefighter or smth similar ) to make him have this eureka moment of realizing that he’d be a great fit for that line of work, and somebody ( probably nancy lbr, she’s always his #1 supporter ) encourages him to follow his heart and go for it, so he does!
