Malia wanted to fly to freaking France. She wanted to meet French guys. She wanted to leave everything behind, Scott included. She wanted a fresh start.

But this show wants to tell me suddenly, that she or fell in love with Scott in few days or was already in love for some time, she just didn’t realize it (what makes her another Lydia, but whatever) or she knew she was in love but wanted to leave without even trying a shit (and we know the fact he is Kira’s ex was not an obstacle here *sarcasm*), what doesn’t sound like Malia at all. I know Malia said in s4 she was not very good with the relationship stuff, but she was never shy about feelings.

It’s brought to our attention that a lot of people who write fanfics as well as create fanart really wanted to participate in the Alec Lightwood appreciation weeks but they had trouble to adapt the very show-based themes to fics and arts. Hence, why the team of @dailyaleclightwood​ decided to host another appreciation weeks with different themes, particulary for those who write fanfic as well as draw fanart. This way everybody can participate in the appreciation weeks and there will be even more new content during the hiatus.

Aside from the new themes for writers/artists everything else will stay the same. There is one theme for a whole week instead of one theme for one day. This way it is less stressful for you all to post your stuff and the appreciation for Alec won’t be over in a week already.

The appreciation weeks will start on September 11th and end on December 24th.

September 11th - 17th: Daily Alec Lightwood, a scene from Alec’s daily life

September 18th - 24th: Malec

September 25th - October 1st: A missing scene from the show

October 2nd - 8th: Friendship

October 9th - 15th: Family

October 16th - 22nd: Alternative Universe

October 23rd - 29th: Meetings  

October 30th - November 5th: Alec as a kid

November 6th - 12th: Battle / bamf!Alec on the battlefield

November 13th - 19th: Alec as a leader

November 20th - 26th: A scene from the future

November 27th - December 3rd: Emotion

December 4th - 10th: Humour

December 11th - 17th: Alec as a downworlder

December 18th - 24th: Winter

We tried to keep the themes as open as possible, so that aside from the main theme for each week you are free to do whatever you like. All we ask from you is that you keep your content mainly Alec related since we are a site about Alec Lightwood.

We hope that these themes will inspire you all to create content and we are all very much looking forward to see your stuff. Of course you don’t have to post for every single week. Don’t stress yourself. This is supposed to be fun.

Just remember that you tag your posts with #alecappreciation2017 in the first five tags so that we can see it and reblog it to the site.

The Malec relationship is on a constant upward trend I think, and I believe that’s how it should be. That doesn’t mean necessarily that everything’s going to be perfect all the time because you need to grow, and to grow you need these kind of little errors so you guys can adapt and learn how to work with each other.
