Why do most fandoms reach a peak state where everyone has a deep understanding of the themes and characters, the philosophies and the hardships. And then like. 2 months later. They're infantalising the dark and brooding character, making the crazy one who likes how they are 'misunderstood' and 'just a baby', and making MORALITY seem like a bad guy when he's just complex.

I realized that it’s been a while since I just made a headcannon post for the Sides, so here’s some new angst headcannons since a lot of people happened to like the angsty ones. If you’ve read some of my fics or seen my fanart, you might recognize some of these ideas/headcannons (since I incorporated them into my work)
Content Warnings: Janus angst, mention of Christian themes, Roman angst, insecurity, restraints (blocks on hands), Remus angst, thinking badly of one’s self, Patton angst. Let me know if I missed anything.

- Janus doesn’t like his scales because they remind him of how C!Thomas sees him/his function as evil. As soon as C!Thomas gained a strong sense of morality, deceit was seen as evil and something devilish, so Janus gained scales like the devil in his snake form. Janus doesn’t want to be seen as a monster.
- When C!Thomas experiences creative block, literal blocks appear around Roman’s hands. Roman can’t break the blocks and is thus unable to create/conjure stuff or do anything that requires his hands until the creative block goes away. The Creative Side’s insecurity gets strong during this time, as he feels useless and unheroic not being able to help C!Thomas create.
- Despite acting like he doesn’t care about what people think about him, deep down Remus does want people to like him. Remus thought he had that even when it was him, Janus, and Virgil against the rest of the mindscape. Of course, Remus longed to reconnect with his twin, but he was happy with both Janus and Virgil. But then Virgil left, and Remus thought it was his fault. The creative split basically happened because of him, so Virgil switching sides of the mindscape must be his fault too. Seeing Virgil again in the “Dealing with Intrusive Thoughts” video only confirmed this for Remus, as his former friend was clearly terrified of him.
- After the Lily-Padton transformation in SVS Redux, Patton became very anxious about making decisions. He didn’t want to make the wrong choice again and turn back into a frog monster. Animal traits are associated with the Dark Sides, which Patton was originally taught meant the bad Sides, or the Sides that weren’t liked/wanted by C!Thomas. So he didn’t want to have frog traits and be bad again.

Demus I feel would 100% end up in the "A fell first, but B fell harder" trope. Stay with me here, but Remus would 100% have been pining since day one and just accepted that Janus was never going to like him like that, then one day years later they're just chilling on the couch and Janus looks over at Remus and it just hits him like a truck. "OH fuck I just fell head over heels for him and he's so fucking strange". Virgil and orange both know and tease the two of them about it constantly.
Sanders Sides from Janus and Remus’s perspectives is literally so funny like. Your coworkers fucking suck and they think they’re sooo much better than you and your boss barely knows you exist but hey at least you have your buddy to hang out with. Yeah your boss tolerates him slightly more than you but hey it’s all cool. He bullies your annoying coworkers for you.
And then one day he just. Fucking leaves. Like he’s not coming back. Ever. That one holier than thou coworker keeps calling him his son and he’s cool with it. He’s probably fucking your brother.
