Got this guy on my birthday and he has been the best birthday 🎂 gift 🎁 ever! 💞 . Our little Dobby cat is almost like a dog. He greats me at the door when I come home from work, he loves to cuddle & sleep with us, he gives kisses, he sings with Steve 🎶 & loves to play w/toys. He loves his brother & sister Remi & Bella, they are still trying to figure out why he is running the house. But truly the best birthday present ever! Here he is waiting on Dad to make popcorn for the movie we were about to watch. He loves salt! 🧂 If you ever even think about it...go and save or rescue that animal! A few important rules to teach your daughter(s)!❤️

1. It’s okay to cry when you’re hurt. But, wash your face, and get up off the floor when you’re done. You don’t belong down there.

2. You are a woman, you do not need a man, but you can absolutely enjoy your life with a good one.

3. Happiness is not a permanent state. Wholeness is. Don’t confuse these.

4. Never walk through an alley alone.

5. ‘Can’t’ - is a cop-out.

6. Hold your heroes to a high standard. Be your own hero.

7. If you can’t smile with your eyes, don’t smile. Insincerity is nothing to aspire to.

8. Stay true to yourself always.

10. If you have an opinion, you’d better know why.

11. Practice your passions.

12. Ask for what you want. The worst thing they can say is no.

13. Wish on stars, and then get to work to make them happen.

14. Stay as sweet as you are.

15. Say Please, Thank You, and Pardon Me, whenever the situation warrants it.

16. Reserve “I’m sorry” for when you truly are!

17. Question everything ... except your own intuition.

18. You are amazing! Don't let anyone ever make you feel you are not. If someone does....walk away. You deserve better.

19. No matter where you are, you can always come home.

20. Be happy and remember your roots, family is EVERYTHING.

21. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

22. Be kind; treat others how you would like them to treat you.

23. If in doubt, remember whose daughter you are and straighten your crown. 👑

I’m back! This is my kickoff to 2019 & my & @incrediblegamez commitment to one event each month. We only did 1 event the entire year of 2018. 😔 This event started not so good for me...I am a speed walker & Steve runs, so I always have my own journey. But it was cold 🥶 & being a Reynauds sufferer, my hands & feet were completely numb. Being out of shape...no help either. But as I remember this walk is for the benefit of cerebral palsy I move a little faster. I thank every cop working the course, all the volunteers, I caught up to an elderly man jogging who was wearing a marine jacket & thanked him for his service, also passed a Navy vet & thanked him. A military vet passed me carrying a flag & I made sure I thanked him! These things made my journey so much easier! Knowing what they all did for me. Knowing those that suffer or have suffered w/cerebral palsy have suffered more than me. Thank you for opening my eyes again today! I’m glad I got up today & did this 5k! I have 3 daughters and none of them are "skinny"...I know that all 3 of them struggle with self image issues. Truth be told I am thinner than all 3 of them and I complain a lot in their presence about my weight and how unhappy I am about my body! After seeing this image I am going to stop this behavior!!!

Two of my daughters are in dreaded middle school! The terrible years! These have to be the WORST years in children's lives! Kids are so mean to each other! The name calling, bullying, nastiness is awful at this delicate age when so many changes are happening to their bodies. Both of my girls are growing up beautiful!

My oldest daughter is a senior in high school, she is beautiful! She has had her ups and downs in school and out of school...she is in the home stretch! This girl has been active all of her life with dance, gymnastics, marching band, winter guard and this past summer she worked as a life guard. I am so proud of her and I am proud that she has learned to love herself and is confident in herself and her body! I admire her for this and WISH I had her confidence!

I on the other hand struggle with self confidence...I struggle with believing that I am pretty enough, thin enough, fit enough, good enough. I come from a mentally abusive first marriage. I danced for many, many years, was also in the color guard, winter guard, took dance lessons till I was 28, a member of many gyms, did home work out programs, past aerobics instructor, weight watchers member, I eat healthy, Advocare distributor. I am 5'5" and I weigh 137, I am fairly fit and currently taking on Crossfit (very recently!) & this year have taken on very serious walking! I have participated in 5 5k events and have a 10k this Sunday, 2 miler in 2 weeks, 4 miler in 3 weeks, 15k in November and another 5k on Thanksgiving day! I wear a fitbit daily...My girls love doing the 5k's and walks and all of them want a fitbit, well one got it for her bday :).

So my pledge from here on out...no more negativity about myself...about my image, weight, what size I "have" to wear, any of that. I am going to TRY and be more positive about myself! I am ALWAYS positive with them...but I really need to be positive about myself to create that image for them. This will not be easy!
