When I was thinking about how I wanted to feel in the space, the word “rooted” came to mind, particularly since the city, and the world, feels so tumultuous right now. Plants and mushrooms share information and resources through their roots, and likewise we must support each other for our collective safety and flourishing. 🌱

I’m drawn to the language of flowers, and these are lavender, forget me nots and violets — symbols of the gay, trans and sapphic communities respectively. Trans people are centered here because trans people are under particular attack right now.
