Day #2 Berlin - Yesterday Suzi took us to the contemporary art museum in Berlin. We got to see a beautiful Anselm Kiefer piece, some plaques that I loved by Jenny Holzer and the incredible architecture of the museum itself. We walked along the river and came back to a fabulous dinner prepared by Steffen and Emma - spaghetti with bolognese sauce. We ended the evening with great conversation about film, language, and a showcase of creative works by Emma (she is super funny and imaginative). And LOTS of laughing!!! Day #1 Berlin - We left the countryside and arrived in the city yesterday early afternoon. It was a great day touring the city with Suzi, Steffen and Emma. Unfortunately we just missed the pride parade, which looked like a really crazy and fun party!!! We toured multiple exhibition spaces for the ICCCIA conference, saw Suzi’s studio, saw the “woods” where our students will be staying - a very cool park with a petting zoo, Biergarten and train! I think they will love the area. We saw the River Spree, which was tranquil and beautiful. We even made a protest to open it back up for swimming!
