I curse corporate America

for draining my soul.

Sucking me dry

for not being one of the guys

or girls.

I was never meant to play pretend

with people who use words like

bottom line and slimmer margins.

I never wanted to buy your shit,

because I never even wanted to sell it.

I have visions that don’t involve

teams or outlook.

When I circle back

it’s around your heart

not your back.

I believe in truth in art

and the beauty of a mess.

There will never be a day

I scream “record high sales”

because I honestly

couldn’t care less.

My hands are gold

worth more than to just

press buttons.

They like to move and build

and be free

not shackled by an electronic leash.

Having more money

but being at the airport

or stuck in a hotel alone,

too many germs and bad beds

filled with spirits unknown.

I prefer real connections

not just running my mouth.

I don’t look at others

eager of their drama

wanting to find out.

Taking things as they come

because age has taught me

I belong to no one.

I’ll always prefer to hustle

over working myself to the bones.

I want to live out real dreams,

not the ones of fat cats

Losing your mind

sometime will help you find

new days and new nights.

Try hard to try,

when you roll the dice,

win or lose,

there’s always a prize.

Life is a lesson

that you keep on learning,

it’s a requiem of a carousel,

that just keeps turning.

An endless match

that comes to an end,

I think if you do it kind,

you’ll always end up

your own best friend.

I’d tell you this happy,

but it’s sometimes sad.

there’s peace,

but life will always be mad.
