Hey there, are you doing alright?? I thought the war between Russia and Ukraine had ended :((
Hey, thank you for checking in.
I know sometimes people outside of Ukraine might not follow all the updates closely, and it’s easy to assume the war ended. But unfortunately, it hasn’t. The full-scale invasion started in 2022, but Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has been going on for much longer – centuries, really.
Sometimes it’s better to assume someone doesn’t know rather than acting out of malice — so here are some resources that explain the reality better:
I really hope more people will understand that it’s not okay to defend or excuse Russia as if “ordinary people” are not involved. Ukrainians keep paying a huge price every day.
And one more important thing — please don’t support Russian indie projects or animations like Metal Family, Psychonyashki , and similar content. People often say “it has nothing to do with the war,” “art is separate from politics,” but in reality, money and attention given to Russian creators directly fuel their economy and propaganda. Every view, like, or purchase helps those creators and their platforms, which in turn supports Russia’s economy and propaganda ecosystem.
On top of that, many of those creators normalize or even romanticize abuse, toxic relationships, and worse. So not only does it indirectly fuel the war, but the content itself can be really harmful.
And it’s not only about Russian-made shows — even praising Russian dubbing/arts/songs of Western projects helps normalize the idea that the Russian media community is “safe” or “neutral.”
It isn’t. That community is deeply homophobic, racist, and actively supports propaganda.
So if you want to support me and Ukrainians in general, the best thing is to spread awareness, stand against misinformation, and not normalize the narrative that “Russians are innocent and nothing is their fault.”
It shows solidarity, and it avoids feeding into the same system that’s been hurting us for so long.
