Junkfilled memories

That was some bullshitttt on so many levels (since when can Meryl play the piano? Wolfwood is suddenly a Christian now, completely out of the blue? Oh and Chronica retcon just as I predicted)

But what really gets me is the absolutely rancid, overtly settler-colonialist ideology.

So the humans fucked up their own planet so bad that they decided to look for another one to colonize. They land on No Man's Land, which is a hostile environment for them — but it is already populated by a sentient species who have no trouble living there (the worms).

The planet gets terraformed to be more suitable for humans (yes I know Knives started it, but the humans continue the process, intending for it to cover "most of the planet", as narrated by Meryl).

A complete, drastic ecosystem change. We don't know if this new environment is suitable for the worms at all. It's never even brought up.

Because nobody cares. Not the characters, not the narrative. No efforts are made to consult Zazie, much less to get their consent. But it's fineeee, don't even worry about it! Zazie, the ancient spokesperson for the worms, is somehow 100% cool with this!!

Then as if that wasn't enough, most of the humans just ... up and leave the planet in search of ANOTHER one anyway! After messing with the ecosystem they're happy to simply abandon the land and its inhabitants. No connection to the land. No desire expressed to actually learn from their mistakes or commit to fixing them. Not even any consideration for the indigenous inhabitants of the planet who tolerated them all this time and CANONICALLY CANNOT LEAVE THE PLANET THAT THE HUMANS JUST TERRAFORMED. Zazie says they can't travel even if they wanted to
