I haven’t posted anything on Tumblr for a long time, but with all the changes that have happened in my life, I thought it was time to come back. First and foremost I have a two-year-old little boy who is just as goofy as I am. Living vicariously through his eyes has given me a new profound perspective on how special this whole crazy experience actually is. While I still play in a band my nightlife has taken a much-needed change from the downtown bar scene to morning hikes and going to the gym as often as I can. I also use to be a vegetarian but now I simmer bison bones to make my own broth (it also makes your house smell amazing). Without my family cheering me on I would have never thought twice about changing careers, but I am SO glad that I did!
Once I learned my wife was pregnant I decided to go back to school. I knew that a soulless office job stuck in a cubicle wasn’t for me, so I took a chance and went into the healthcare field. I earned a certificate as a registered dental assistant and started working full time in a dental office. I realized this field was a great balance of patient care and time off with my family and decided to pursue it further. I went back to school again and earned a degree in pre-health science and am now seeking a position as an RDA student. It truly is remarkable how much science has discovered in the last 50 years and how many questions are still left to be answered! I now realize every obstacle I have experienced in my life was actually guiding me to this place in my life.
I’m living healthier, happier, stronger and with more passion than I ever thought possible, and I owe all of this to my wonderful family. Without them, I would never have attempted to further my education which ultimately lead me down this amazing path. I’m excited to share some of my favorite new discoveries with anyone who is willing to listen with an open mind. While I used this blog primarily for vegan food recipes in the past I intend to use it for everything and anything that inspires me to be a healthier and wiser person. While I’m far from perfect I think it’s important to be reminded WHY we want longevity in our lives and how to get there. Hopefully, this page will inspire others to try and be a little more healthy every day.
