  the day was not yet over, a last attempt could be made to try and salvage this. his plan was concise, he would try to bring a little more liveliness in their conversation while bringing her back home. Inching closer to her to keep themselves warmer, a bold arm wrapped itself around her shoulder to bring her closer to him. the sudden display of affection would most likely surprise her since the male had spent his entire day with his hands in his pockets. “so, what exactly made you realise you wanted to be an idol?” he asked. he was genuinely curious, leaving everything behind to pursue your dreams isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do. 

  “also, it’s getting quite late, would you like me to walk you back?” 

     with fall sweeping down on them, the colors that decorated seoul had always caught the young woman’s attention. their footsteps created sounds as they stepped on leaves that fell from the tree- it took everything in her not to step on each one to create that crunch sound that gives her a bit of serotonin. she would look like a child, that’s for sure, and she couldn’t embarrass herself right now- not yet. was this her way of trying to find something to do in the mix of awkwardness that seeped between the two? she for one, was not an awkward woman, you could say that she didn’t function well in awkward situations because she could never find herself in one. but the man beside her wasn’t giving too much of himself during their little walk. 

        who goes on a walk for on a date?

    it was a quick thought that crossed her mind with every step they took. the street lights turned on and so did the nightlife that always welcomed her whenever she was walking home from practice. her warm orbs bounced as she looked around at the quiet street that would soon be filled with young people. the walk was something that didn’t create any excitement between the two, the spark simply wasn’t there and she wondered if he felt the same way- or maybe he didn’t notice. though this didn’t stop jihee from creating small talk that she hoped would set a mood other than awkwardness or timid movements, she couldn’t allow that as the free spirit inside of her wanted to break through every chance she got. 

    she was taken out of her thoughts once an arm was brought around her, creating goosebumps along the hidden arms that were covered with a black cardigan. jihee looked up at the male with curious eyes, before returning to people watching as the corner of her lips curved up into a tiny smile. the woman hummed at his question, head slowly tilting in thought as silence fell between the two. “i grew up singing, well forced to sing by my mom at pageants and once i left that world, i knew that i wanted to do something with music.” her words were soft, yet loud enough for you to hear her. “it took me a few years to even come to the idol conclusion but once i saw the flyers for auditions, i thought why not.. you know?” her idol story was nothing special, she didn’t have some kind of excitement or even anyone to really tell since she was alone on most days. “now what about you, hm? can’t leave me hanging.” she giggled, wrapping an arm around his waist so they could find a balance somehow.

all she needed was a familiar face.

it was never easy to come into a place, brand new, with no friends, and expect everyone to come to you at once. jihee was sure that some older trainees saw the newer ones as more competition, a bright new face that was eager to explore their talents, and be the next big thing. 

but did jihee give off that aura the moment she came here? she wasn’t sure, and she tried not to sit on the thought for too long.

however, it did get lonely, and sitting at a halloween party was a prime example of how this trainee still hasn’t branched out too much yet. there was never a shy bone in her body, yet sitting here in the latex bodysuit made her feel like she stuck out like a sore thumb. red lips skimmed the edge of her cup, sighing softly as she looked around for one familiar face.

and perhaps her face lightened up the moment she caught genji’s gaze. her posture perked up, a smile gracing her lip as she waved to the other. the two girls met not too long ago, genji always being the one to approach jihee whenever they ran into each other or even shared a class together. she was grateful for the bright soul, someone who matched her energy even though the young woman was struggling to let that side come out just yet.
