I understand it can not be any direct literal translation off of "poo", but can't Quebec drag in some cutesy French pet suffix here?

Good rug?
"Good Looking", "Peeking Partners"
A later instance where we see Betty commenting on how hot she finds a passing girl, she regrets doing so aloud because of Archie's excited response. Here she wants to share the excitement with Archie. Complicated mix, she is either moving into or out of constantly putting dark sunglasses on him or otherwise blocking his vision from the girls. I am not sure how to arrange the continuity -- which panel happened first -- is Betty moving toward sharing the ogling ("male gaze") or moving to guarding this for herself?
Further complicating the question -- what is Betty's and what is Veronica's motivation in going through the motions in waking Archie up and ultimately not doing so, taking in the other beach scenes?

"Breath of Fresh Despair"
Archie's butt struggles as he runs, I guess.
Not sure why Veronica rejects a cpr lesson. She knows she is in an Archie comic book, so that means Hot Mouth to Mouth Resuscitation Action.
Though, this is why she would be rejecting the chance for Hot Mouth to Mouth Resuscitation Practice Action...
stars of closed circuit tv
Keep the old woman, dump the cowboy kid. They move it to the deli, better to get in view of the "Fresh Ham" on sale.
Had not swapped in new iteration of the cover yet.
"The Devil Printer", "The Dance Flaw"
We are here over a year past the last appearance of Cheryl. Interestingly, had Kathleen Webb wanted to drop in a character name she would have gone with "Gloria Gudlucks", though I don't know what Betty would say instead of "that red-headed witch". Rich Margopoulos, writer of the last trailing off stories with the Blossoms -- focused a bit more on class antagonisms via athletic competitiom from Pembroke Academy than on the vixen seductress and bad boy attraction angle -- still had her in his head to pull out for plot referencing detail-- and that and this are where you can spot her between 1985 and 1995.
About a year later, and if you want to decide this is Cheryl whom Moose is asking for a date -- kind of working counterways on how comics dot org's indexers decide every unnamed red haired girl is Cheryl -- this where the artist Stan Goldberg has a girl named Cheryl to draw and he knew of a Cheryl.
The Stand Up
No Stuttering allowed. No time for Goom-byes.
Beatnik out. Or maybe coffee.
"Expresso".
"Sad Fad"
The next panel shows Veronica saying “groovy”, which as you know is very punk rock.
Reporter: "Are you a Mod or a Rocker?" Ringo Starr: "Uh, no, I'm a Mocker." (Repeating an answer from Paul McCartney).

"Happy New Year"
A bit confused as they drop the allusion to the "divine source" and the "creator". They remove Moses in favor of America's 16th President but keep Jesus.

"Those Nifty Fifties"
Can have a principal in his sixties but not in his seventies. (Or is it seventies and eighties?)
"The Freedom Fighters"
A new issue number one, though not a whole lot to differentiate from the old series. Clearly they wanted to ditch 'Archie’s Girls’ and offer up a “best friends forever” focus even as they continue to circle around the “fighting over Archie” dynamic. But they were doing so and could have done so while continuing the numbering of the series started in 1950. If that is what they wanted.
Nonetheless, issue one brought in a few stories clearly meant for an element of worldly concerns and at least a smidgen of character depth or development. Because it was issue one. So here, after Betty has a bad date with an obnoxious conceited college boy -- noticeable last second re-lettering job notwithstanding
and Betty and Veronica commiserate. I am thinking the first version perhaps betrays a passivity – a neediness for the boy’s approval which is unbecoming – and the second one decides to throw in a more gender equal “goose for the gander” element in lusting over pizza delivery boys.
