There is a recurring premise in Archie Comics over the years -- Betty puts on a black wig and is Veronica -- the better to get with Archie. A question, though. Get into the nineties and Betty and Veronica swap blonde and black wigs a couple times -- appear as each oter. But! What plot contrivance does it take to get Archie to don a black wig to play the part of Veronica? It is where Archie takes over video tape of Veronica skiing with an episode of Tiny Toons--

Finding a dress for the Prom. Or, a dance. Could not even bother to mark it as something major a dance on the high school set social calendar -- though even then we'd just use a generic "Formal" and not specify a season because the very reason it is changed from "Prom" is to have it reprintable any time (or at least through nine months) of the calendar.

And how does Betty solve this oh-so-important problem of finding a unique dress no one will be wearing?
