I love symbolism, so I was excited for today’s ‘animals’ prompt for the @lamssummer2026 event! I made petit lion Hamilton last year, and so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to make a stallion Laurens to match :)

flowers

I'm a bit late but here's a quick doodle for yesterday's 'flowers' prompt for the @lamssummer2026 event! It's their state flowers: yellow jessamine for SC and rose for NY. (SC also has a state wildflower, the goldenrod - another yellow flower! The yellow state flowers just reinforce my perception of SC being "golden" in color lol - remember this?)

pirate au lams

Today’s prompt for the @lamssummer2026 event is the different lives/alternate professions AU! If they didn't end up becoming aides-de-camp c. 1777, I wanted to imagine them as pirates - but I also wanted it to make sense for them, so... (this went through a lot of changes lol)

Hamilton is a privateer (basically pirates, but with gov't permission), specifically the quartermaster - the captain's second-in-command, who is typically in charge of logistics, resources, and acts as the liaison and representative of the ship crew. But Hamilton's captain is greedy and targets even innocent civilians, i.e. Laurens. Meanwhile, Laurens is a merchant (I like to think he's supplying GW's forces), and when he fights back, impresses Hamilton to the point that he'd be recruited. Maybe they start their own crew together, Stede Bonnet style.

Originally I wanted to do a parody of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, but it didn't make sense in their context, so I scrapped the idea. Special shoutout to the show Black Sails and Assassin's Creed: Black Flag for all the informative pirate inspo! Fun fact: Blackbeard did cause trouble in Charleston, SC in 1718! He made a blockade in the port and took hostages to bargain for medicine (syphilis was rampant).

Victorian lams

Today's prompt for the lams summer 2026 event @lamssummer2026 is the historical period AU, and I chose the Victorian Era (inspired by my love of Dracula and Oscar Wilde lol)! I've always found this time period and the industrial revolution intriguing. It's basically them but a century later, circa 1870s.

sleeve garters

I just wanted to draw Quincey rolling up his sleeves (how saucy), then of course I needed to draw John and Art too. All of my Dracula doodles are here if you're interested!

Bachelors

The three bachelors who propose to Lucy in Bram Stoker's Dracula (1897)! I laugh at the thought that it's like the Victorian Bachelorette (but in a funny satirical way like in Shrek). I love that Art canonically has a bunch of terriers (spoiler? lmao)

Versailles Laurens

Laurens was in Versailles in 1781 with Thomas Paine to help Benjamin Franklin in obtaining loans from France. (See: John Laurens timeline)

Bonus Laurens dressed as a macaroni - a term referring to rich young men dressing "pretty" and calling themselves fashionable. The green outfit is from this exhibition, which also explains this style of dress and its historical context. Macaronis are infamously ridiculed in satirical art. The term can have a derogatory connotation, but macaronis did challenge gender norms / masculinity. You can see this video about it too!

This is dedicated to @my-deer-friend - who requested Versailles Laurens for an art trade! Funny enough, @my-deer-friend discovered that Laurens was most likely wearing his blue and buff uniform while he was in Versailles. I wonder if Laurens would've been hesitant to dress like a macaroni - it is so ostentatious and essentially a status symbol, which seems very un-American (and tone deaf, considering the revolution). And I figure he'd be afraid of being seen as fruity lmao.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin famously did wear that plain brown suit in Paris.

Star Wolf

I recently got into Starfox and I wanted to show some love for my favorite character :) Imagine my surprise when that Nintendo Direct dropped out of nowhere! I hope they port Star Fox Assault to the Switch, or if they have to do another remake, let it be that one!

Star Fox redesigns

I love Star Fox - and I really wanted to redesign their outfits (especially for Wolf). Alternate versions of Fox with prosthetic (robot) legs and Wolf with his eyepatch below the cut. I hope they port Star Fox Assault to the Switch, or if they have to do another remake, let it be that one! I would love a new Star Fox tho

Black Flag

This year has been rough and particularly challenging (and continues to be), so I tried playing Assassin's Creed for the first time to live vicariously as a pirate lol (and because I found out the series is set in historical periods!). I went in blind and accidentally ended up playing the Kenways in chronological order: AC4, then Rogue, and then AC3! I love the Kenways. A happy belated birthday to Edward!

Special thanks to @my-deer-friend and @john-laurens who have been so incredibly helpful and supportive through this project, and to @ciceroprofacto, whose amazing timelines and research inspired me.

This was a long-term, ongoing project that is sadly unfinished because the project files were tragically deleted. There are definitely parts that I wish I could rework and parts that are unfinished or blank (or perhaps even inaccurate), but I am proud of how it looks so far. I wanted to create this timeline infographic to have as reference, and now here it is for everyone as well!

kiss carrier

A scene from The Heart of Lafayette by @nerenight in which Laurens stays at the Hotel de Noailles while in Paris 1781, and before he leaves for America, Adrienne asks him to kiss Gilbert for her! I love the idea of "kiss carrier Laurens" :) This is dedicated to @nerenight - who wrote this wonderful Laurens-centric chapter for me for an art trade!

Lafayette being a good friend! I like to think that when Laurens and Hamilton argued, Lafayette would try to smooth things over between them because he doesn't like to see his two closest friends fight. (This song called "Gift of Kindness" from the soundtrack of The Rose of Versailles playing in the background.) A continuation of this :)
