So the deterrence isn’t working so up the penalty? If you are caught drinking and driving, your car will be confiscated and auction off. The money from the auction is your fine. Just like handphone usage when driving, the handphone is confiscated (returned later) so this will scare the owner of the car, the family of the irresponsible asshole and any friends lending the car to that irresponsible asshole. Even if the family has another driver that can continue the use of the car, take away the “weapon” that that drunk driver chose to use for the “possible assault”.
