This past week I was focusing more on my deliverable. I got 3/4 of my interviews done. Learned a lot about the Digital Marketing and Communications field. It was interesting to hear their different opinions and thoughts on their field of work.

Deliverable update:

I got three faculty members to interview. I will be doing two this week. Hoping to get at least one member from a university campus as well.

Internship update:

It was a very busy week. We were prepping and promoting the Discovery Fair that happened on Saturday and created a lot of content during Halloween. I like the fact that there seems to be a lot going on, on campus now. The goal for our social accounts is to influence students to enroll at Leeward. Our main accounts are Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook right now.

I have a new update on my TikTok series. It will be interviews of faculty from other UH campuses in the Marketing department, getting their point of views of digital marketing. I will also get to compare the differences and styles of marketing from a university verses a community college. I will also be documenting the production process of it. All the interviews will be done via ZOOM.

As for my internship at Leeward, I am doing a lot of content creating and planning for their social accounts (mainly Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok). It has been kind of tricky because there isn't a lot of students on campus but thankfully there are still events and things happening on campus to encourage them to become more involved.

Since my job title is 'Social Media Assistant' this ties in with my research and understanding the social media side of digital marketing.

For those who are keeping up with me, I just recently started my internship at LCC as a Social Media Assistant. So far I have worked two full days but I have already learned a lot. I have already done some content creating and posting on the social accounts. I have also learned more about the behind the scenes end of it like getting permission from others to be apart of the post, accessibility guidelines, online engagement, etc. My supervisor/boss, Tad, is very clear about what he wants and expects from me for each assignment which is very helpful. Communication is always very important. I will check back with you guys later.

Hello everyone!

So just an update from this week, I got an internship at Leeward Community College (LCC) 😁. I will be a Social Media Assistant and will be working in the Creative Services Department. I will be managing the social media platforms for LCC. There is a 10-day hiring period, which means I won't start till next week unfortunately.

Once I start, I will share with you guys my experience and work that I will be doing there. So be on the look out for that!
