one thing i’m not excited for when I finally move to somewhere with enough jews to start like. going to synagogue. is the fact i will probably go to an orthodox shul, it’s closest to what i’d align myself with ykwim? but like. how am i going to open up the whole “so i wasnt born male or female so what. what does that mean for me.” that just sounds like a social situation i’m not wanting to have ykwim?

i just now realized that this user (who i saw popping up a lot in zio circles over my time on tumblr) named their blog after the Haganah, AKA the main militant organization of the jewish settlement in Palestine, which became the IDF during the Nakba.
now imagine how long could a blog named h4mas or hezboll4 stay up
it would stay up for a while. forever, even. and blogs like that have. because this is tumblr. hope this helps.

A lot of the time when we try to discuss antisemitism against orthodox jews, the conversation is quickly hijacked by jews who find orthodoxy to be weird or something they personally had a bad experience with. As if that means we cannot discuss how it is a normal way to be jewish and people who participate in orthodox judaism are not all miserable and mind controlled and etc.
How can we ever discuss anything if so many of us are intolerant to the idea of jews different than you? I personally don't agree with a lot of the stuff I see reform jews doing. They say things from a reform perspective and I don't agree personally. A rabbi (she/her) once said as a reform rabbi whenever she's asked a question she looks at what Judaism would have as an answer, then looks for a worldly answer and then answers based on that. I couldn't fathom that, to me there's a reason you're going to a rabbi, for a look into Judaism's verdict? Yet I fully repsect that woman and those who are reform like her. Whenever a reform jew speaks I may not agree but I respect them.
I expect other jews to behave themselves when talking about different ways of being jewish because as a jew myself I do this constantly. I know respect is possible, it is not hard.
