Transcript of Zaynâs interview with The Sun
Dan Wootton: Zayn, how are ya man?
Zayn: Um, interesting. I-I-Iâm feeling quite interesting and that.Â
D: It mustâve been a nightmare of a week for you!
Z: Um, ish, yeah. You know what, at the same time itâs um crazy and wild and a bit mad, but at the same time Iâve never felt more in control. I feel like Iâm doing whatâs right and right by myself and right by the boys. I feel good.
D: Absolutely, and so whatâs the plan?
Z: Just to kind of be myself, for a bit. I think Iâm just gonna write, relax, and chill.
Z: Mm, sheâs alright, man. Sheâs a good girl.
D:Â What did she think about it? Was she supportive? Was she saying, look give it another go?
Z: Yeah, sheâs always supportive. S-sheâs always good, man.
D: What is your message that youâre wanting people to know?
Z: The main message is just that I did try to do something that I wasnât happy doing for a while for the sake of maybe other peopleâs happiness and that was mainly the fans, and-and I only ever tried to do it for the fans and it was only for them and that basically Iâm only upset because I feel like I may have let them down in some sort of way, and thatâs the main thing that I donât want to happen, itâs not that Iâve turned my back on them or anything. Itâs just that I canât do that anymore. Itâs not real to me.
D: So you reckon the other 4 are in it for the long haul?
Z: Yeah, definitely. W-when I was there as well there was no contingency, it was always just everyone kind of doing what we were doing and thatâs why itâs been really good for me because I feel itâs been a bit different to what other bands you know when other members have left or whatever, my bandâs been really supportive, theyâre being really cool about it and they understand that itâs not real to me anymore. They still want to do it for a while, so theyâre gonna carry on doing what theyâre gonna do. And I think theyâre gonna do okay for a while, things will be cool.
