In The Potter's Hands

Sometimes things don’t have to be bad. Sometimes you can not have a ‘major sin' that consumes you. Sometimes it's simply reading the Word and being convicted of a quality you are lacking. Sometimes life is much more than getting the bad out.  Sometimes life is about enjoying all the good their is around you. Sometimes life is finding God, not in his wrath that boils because of sin, but through his good and perfect plan that orchestrates even the simplest of details.  Sometimes you enjoy God, not because of what He has done, but because of who He is.

Try to say nothing negative about anybody for three days, for forty-five days, for three months. See what happens to your life.

You know what’s amazing? No matter how long you have gone without talking to God, without being in His presence, as soon as you turn back to Him, He is right there. With open arms, just waiting for you. And then He embraces you, and you can feel His overwhelming love. His peace and comfort, and everything is okay again.

Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.

Jesus didn’t just die for your sins.
