hii my name’s jesterr or jester or harlequin i don’t really care. i come to tumblr every once in a moon and post until i burnout and then disappear. i also really like bats and jesters. please ask me about them.

i like ninjago, pjsk and crk a very normal amount, but i have plenty of interests beside that but not much that i post xxx i have a lot of ocs outside of these posted here as well

i like to draw and write, currently writing and formatting fics to post on ao3 at some point (as of right now im doing a ruikasa fic) . i don’t tend to post much art though since i’m very very self-critical.

i also have difficulties with communicating to people so im sorry if i ever do something wrong! id rather you tell me straight ahead than beat around the bush

yoshikos from Aomori actually!

she moved to shibuya before the school year started to she could attend miyajou and living w her aunt rn :3c . they don’t have a good relationship with each other though. she keeps contact w her family thru video calls and msging them on the daily but bc of the travels and school hours she can’t visit them often. which gen sucks bc she loves her family so much and they’re the best people ever.. when train tickets are cheap she books a train on fridays right after school and comes back sunday evening

after the third year anniversary (where she starts year 2) she moves in with her older brother, yuuri. he moved down to shibuya to attend college so they rent an apartment together! with help w their parents

kimora moved around a lot growing up. i don’t remember the extent of how much she moved around or how far it was but it was enough for her to constantly enroll in new schools. she ended up struggling with developing social contacts, more specifically long-standing ones . she was always a bit of a shy kid but since she couldnt maintain any real relationships she developed some social anxiety. in kamikou she kept to herself and all her relationships with other students come from them approaching her first in some way– rui, akito, tsukasa and so on

i think i briefly touched on this on the ask ethan sent but kimora knew of yoshiko prior to meeting her. she’d watch her streams online a fair bit :3c but tbf kimora indulged in a lot of those types of content online, and i think it’s primarily in a desire to be a normal person too and to be outgoing and stuff and not be this awkward no-lifer who can’t talk to people without doomspiraling mentally . she generally fantasises about stuff and i think she does it a lot with social media in an attempt to comfort herself from the reality that she’s incredibly lonely

oh and speaking of new school! motoki went to another school in his first year and transferred to kamikou in his second. he doesn’t live in shibuya tho so he takes public transport back and forth for school and it takes a little while, i think he enjoys the time where he can vibe to music before going home . OH right back on track uhm it was very much a sudden transfer. i heavily doubt any of the students were informed that theyd recieve a new classmate before the summer break

kamikou is such an improvement to his old school it’s practically night and day TT he didn’t really have it well and there was a lot of meetings revolving him so boom new school alert. he goes in the same class as Tsukasa in the second year so i like to imagine tsukasa approached him and invited to show him around and stuff since he gotta be a star and all!! plus late addition to the class, generally Tsukasa wanted to be nice and motoki sadly caved in and now they’re friends (in my eyes anyway)

motoki is however reserved and a bit closed off but it’s okay we love him for that

tatsuo was a hikikomori right before year 2 started, more specifically before escape key became a thing. i dont think i properly mentioned it before.. he always struggled with his mental health but it really ramped up in year one, and after a certain incident he stopped going entirely

it was also during his hikikomori phase where he discovered asrun and very quickly became his special interest! tbh idols are a huge interest for him in general but asrun made his days more bearable during that time. he especially gravitated towards haruka and her entire thing of being hope for a better day, which he very much needed back then sighsssss he was lwk distraught when asrun disbanded but when he was informed of mmj he was ecstatic!!! hes so whimsical!! fun fact he knows all choreography by heart and yoshiko likes teasing him for his idol interest

i like imagining tatsuo introduced kimora to mmj at some point. she ended up liking minori a lot which makes me giggle since tatsuo likes haruka. i like to think that they sometimes spend lunch sharing headphones and watching streams

motoki comes to them to eat lunch and he sees them in the worst shrimp posture ever squinting in the hot sun trying to see a stream on tatsuo’s phone . i think it would be funny if motoki and yoshiko caved in and picked their ‘favs’ to be airi and shizuku bc then they’d all like their own member

ill be so real this has stumped me for a good bit bc i don’t work well with open questions but AHHH!! all of escape key joined in the sense of wanting friends? kinda? they all struggle connecting with other people in one way or another and want someone they can truly be themselves with

for context escape key is formed last out of all units + motoki and tatsuo knew each other from when they were younger

for yoshiko she was friends with kohane and emu and she’d hear about wxs & vbs— for vbs it was mostly her bombarding kohane with questions and whatnot but with emu they’re just chronic yappers im afraid . she saw what they had going on and it kinda evolved into a slight envy? jealousy? she wanted what they had. she’s popular in miyajou and has her online stuff going on but a lot of it is her putting up a front so she wants something real for once? it’s hard to explain without going into her massive inferiority complex and insecurities im sorry

she didn’t really “join” escape key since she started it but when she was invited back into escape key it was because despite fucking it all up she desperately craved people she didn’t need to play a front with AH. Grgrgrgrh yoshiko why are you so difficult to describe Yoshiko self esteem analysis coming SOON (lie)

when kimora was offered the chance to join the unit it was basically this :

she fantasised about it for years— even if it wasn’t directly to be in a music band she always yearned for friends, esp a neat little friend group. plus she already admired yoshiko from before so it really was her chance to get friends. i also think since the main story takes place a bit later into the school year everyone else probably already developed friend groups and duos, and her being shy left her behind

i mean she had a few people she talked with, maybe one person she was able to call a ‘friend’ but it wasn’t anything special?? lwk it was every one of her fantasies coming to life so ofc she’s gonna take that chance, even if she didn’t have much going for her

motoki is … special. he’s reserved and doesn’t like to be with people but hey would you look at that he’s in a unit dumb dumb die die I HATE YOU . when he was roped into it he didn’t really have much of a reason to join? like, so much of him is how he *doesnt* want to drag attention to himself or be acknowledged . he’s one of the few who had actual musical history in the unit, he did a lot of unconventional instrument work before that. i thiiink he was pretty unsure about it at first but caved into the idea that if he accepted this he could extend an invitation to tatsuo and thus reconnect with him . tbf i think ever since motoki realized tatsuo also attends kamikou he wanted to chat w him but he didn’t really have a reason to so he just sat in the bg

but like! just bc he’s been wronged by people before it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want people. he wants friends and shyt, aaaand it would give him an excuse to pursuit his music-esque interests

tatsuo also dabbled in music before joining escape key, cue the entire MrCottonCandy alias he used online. it was just him having fun he never really saw it as anything else than “oh i like doing this and people like seeing it i guess” . motoki invites him in and he’s ecstatic because he finally got approached by people!!! HE LOVES PEOPLE!!!!!! tatsuo has the “looks unapproachable + intimidating but loves people” disease im afraid .. yeah but no he’s a really simple guy .

no but really he is much simpler than everyone else in why he joined. he really craved human contact and he was being given it on a platter, plus it’s music related and he has experience with that. he’d say yes regardless of who asked him but the fact it was motoki in particular also drove it harder to him wanting to join.

no but literally they all wanted friends that’s lwk it 😭 there’s a lot of stuff behind that for them to seek out but that’s more of its own post soz :(

tldr they all wanted friends and people they could unapologetically be themselves with -> this later becoming their motive to create a safe space for other social outcasts like them

HMMM zombie apocalypse uhmmm straight of the bat Tatsuo dies immediately. he’s unfit, regularly skips p.e and his eating habits are absolutely atrocious. the only way he’d survive would be if someone else took care of him and put him in an enclosed room but the moment any physical conflict occurs he’ll be the first one out. he’ll do okay with managing resources and stuff though, he’s good at management. no but yeah he’s fully dependent on someone else

kimora is like tatsuo where she wouldn’t really survive any hand to hand combat or stuff but she’d do okay if we don’t count that. she’s good with plants and could make her own farm to provide for her . i think she’d fare worse than Tatsuo in physical stuff since he at least has a height advantage

yoshiko and motoki would do pretty well says me! both of them canonically work out and are pretty fit. yoshiko used to play in the forest a lot and was in the girl scouts growing up so she’s pretty set on the physical and skill aspect of things, food will probably be a bit difficult since she has no green thumb whatsoever but hunting might work! i think she’ll go insane if she doesn’t have anyone to chat with though… she’ll survive as long as she has someone else to be social with, or a cat. preferably both.

again with motoki he has a lot of physical skills, now add natural testosterone and height boost and he sadly outclasses yoshiko. he’s naturally alert and wary of his surroundings so he’ll do really well in case of something trying to sneak up on him. he knows how to get things done and even if he doesn’t know how to hunt or garden properly i think he’d get a nack for hunting and gathering pretty fast. and unlike yoshiko he wouldn’t feel a need to be with someone so he’d be able to survive for longer . he knows to be silent snd stealth around. hes paranoid asf though he wouldn’t really group up with anyone in fear of them turning against him, and if he were to group with anyone he’d constantly be on the lookout

i think! they’d work the best together honestly. tatsuo could manage their resources (putting in that noggin to work) while kimora handles the greenery and yoshiko + motoki handles excursions and what not. acrually they probably need to teach tatsuo stranger danger he’d try and open the door to any person he sees .. wait was tatsuo even taught stranger danger in the canon probably not
