i am not going to phrase this well but it's so fucking annoying that women's sports will always have so many more aspects of it that make it more complicated in a completely different way than men's. and it's so tiring when it feels like the expectations are different where the problems within the men's leagues are rapists and abusers and men saying women deserve less for whatever reason they come up with. and it's not that it's less tangible or real but it's "old news" in the sense that it feels isolated even if it isn't. and i always remember someone replying to the idea of this with:
and i get it! but it's exhausting. and then the women's tours the issues ARE shitty and i'm pissed at what the wta is doing and it's exhausting and depressing and bad. but that standard cannot be held to the men's tours and it feels so unfair and irritating and i know some people use it as an excuse to not watch women's sports which is like...i don't quite get it but it's just....it all feels a little bit hopeless. idk.
