i’ve gotten a few episodes behind with my podcast rewatch gifsets but i have a pretty good excuse...I started my PhD earlier this month! So I’ve been super tired getting back into the swing of actually doing full days work after lazing around for a few months in between honours and phd :p

Your New Girl gifs are so pretty and colorful!! How do you make them?!
Hi! Thank you!! :) I made a tutorial on this before over on my main blog, which you can look at here.
The only thing I've been doing here that I don't really explicitly explain in that tutorial is when I have two colours in my gifs.
I either make a gradient layer set to “colour”, give it a layer mask, and erase the section of the mask where the person is like this gif:
Or I've just used two separate colours (usually on two separate layers which is just easier to later re-edit if you've made a mistake) when painting over different sections of the gif to get a contrast:
