East India tea.
Was doing genealogy stuff. And found out that one of my ancestors (the father of revolutionary General Solomon Cowles), and his wife, were convicted of drinking east India tea in 1775 and of serving it at their inn and they had to formally apologize in the local paper and promise to never serve it again.
He went on to raise and send money to the victims of the British in Boston and helped with continental army out with supplies.
The idea that you could get convicted for drinking tea is crazy to me. Times have changed.
